Summer Bay Resort? (vs. Westgate)

Hi! Have received a flyer about this resort and what appears to be a great rate for a 3BR through the Orlando Magicard (have not yet checked availability. I have not heard anything about this resort. The ad says 6 miles from Disney, my husband pointed out that Disney is a small city in itself, so this may be longer than that. Anyone stayed there? It (of course) looks beautiful in the ad. we have been planning on staying at Westgate, but are considering other options. Thanks! We need a 3 BR which can sleep 5 adults, two small kids and a baby.

Yes, my family has stayed at Summer Bay but not Westgate. The 3 bedroom they wanted to put us in was wonderful. You could smell the fresh paint. The reason why we didn't want to stay in that unit was that it was 2 seperate units connected by a little foyer. Had an entrance then you could walk into unit a or b. With myself, husband, and 3 small boys, we dind't feel it would be safe to put the baby or the other 2 boys in a unit seperated like that. We called front desk and they said we could stay where we were at, go to an older 3 bedroom(an actual 3 bedroom unit). or stay at one of their houses(we had to pay more for this). We looked at all options and took the house. We had a great time. Summer bay is really nice. I think the 3 bedroom would be great if there 2 families who wanted to split the cost and still have there privacy. I hope I helped.

We stayed there last October and found it quiet and clean. It took us about 10 minutes to get to a WDW gate.

However; we stayed in the hotel on the grounds. What kind of rates are you getting for the units? I'd love to stay there again this year.

Summer Bay is a very nice resort. The staff there tends to be more helpful that those at Westgate...
