I have found a good deal at Summer Bay and Orbit One Vacation Villas. With Orbit One I can go to Liki Tiki Village Water Park, which looks like alot of fun. If you've stayed at both, which one would you recommend? How close are they to Disney?

I haven't stayed at either but know where they are. Orbit One is about a mile and a half from Disney's Animal Kingdom using Sherberth Rd. We have passed it many times heading into Disney using the shortcut.
Summer Bay is 5 or 6 miles west of that just off 192. It's actually close to Liki Tiki Village (which I have stayed at).
Here's a map to show you where they are:

Orbit One is #105 and the way into Disney is the red line from there.
Summer Bay is #38 and Liki Tiki is #37

While I don't know each one at all, I can tell you I was able to trade into Summer Bay, which in pictures looked really nice but once I went on and researched it on my timeshare boards, I found it didn't get great reviews.
I didn't look at Orbit One since I wasn't trading into it so don't know the reviews but I ended up with Cypress Pointe (we own at Orange Lake but wanted to try something new).
Maybe if you go on tripadvisor or google both names, you will be able to find some reviews.
Good luck and have a great trip!

Summer Bay has several different sections, some nicer than others. The overall resort has a nice slate of amenities, but it's a bit farther from the parks.

Orbit One is a smaller resort, very few amenities. The units are reportedly clean and well-kept. I put my father up here a couple years ago, and he liked it a lot (and his wife is a little picky about cleanliness).

If it were me, I'd probably lean to Orbit One, mainly because of the location. The only exception: if you're talking about the *Houses* at summer bay, that would be a better choice. They have private pools, and are 3BR homes.

We stayed at Summer Bay 2 years ago and were strongly considering it again this year. The amenities are great, although some were pricey. Drive time to Disney was about 12-15 minutes. At the last minute, we found a deal at the Fountains.

We have stayed at both Summer Bay and Orbit One. I would not stay at Orbit One again. There were no problems with the condo, just not as nice as some of the other places we have stayed. It is closer to Disney than Summer Bay. We stayed at a 3 bedroom in Summer Bay and liked it even though it is further away from Disney but that doesn't bother us. I know travel time really matters to some people.

I havent stayed at Orbit one, but we did summer bay last year and really liked it a lot. They had a lot of really nice ammenties and we loved the pools. Our 1 bedroom condo was roomy, clean and nice. We were very happy there and would consider stayed there again for an off property visit!

Haven't been to Summer Bay but we've stayed at Orbit One 3 times and like it a lot. It is super close to property. I timed our drive from Animal Kingdom to the door of our unit at just over 4 minutes. Hollywood Studios was about 7 minutes. That makes it closer than almost all of the onsite hotels.

We stayed at the Summer Bay a couple of ago. We had the 3 bedroom through Skyauction. Nice grounds and pool areas.
