My mom has finally made good on her "threat" to take the entire family on a Disney cruise! (Yeah, like she had to twist my arm on this one.)

It'll be me, my mom and dad, my brother and SIL, and their 4 kids. We're spending 5 days at WDW followed by a 4-day cruise.

It feels kind of weird to be planning a 2011 trip when I'm still in the process of finalizing my solo trip for this coming July, but I understand that planning multiple trips simultaneously is a sign of the hard-core Disney geek, right?

:lmao: Yes, that is definitely a sign that you are a hard-core Disney geek! But, aren't we all?

Have you done a Disney cruise before?

This will be both my first Disney cruise and my first cruise in general. I'm really looking forward to it. I've read lots and heard multiple podcasts about the experience, and it sounds like an amazing way to relax.

I hope you have a wonderful time. ::yes::

We did not. :)

I'm not going into huge detail, as it's a very unpopular position :) however, I will say, be certain before you leave port that your room doesn't smell like a ten day old urinal. If it does, you will be stuck with it throughout the duration of the cruise.

We left our Disney cruise knowing that we'll gladly never put ourselves through that kind of experience again.

Well, I don't know Uncle Mike's # 1 rule!

All I can say is on the several other cruises we've been on and enjoyed we never had to worry about that sort of thing, so it never crossed our minds to "check" on the smell!

Wasn't just our room either. Unfortunately, my wife's mother and aunt's room was the same. Since it was her 75th birthday celebration things got testy. :guilty:

No matter. Live and learn, eh?

We lived. We learned. :teeth:

The bathrooms in the cabin are nice.......for brushing teeth and taking a shower...... everything else is done in a public restroom! :thumbsup2

 I'd rather be poked in the eye with a pointy sticky than do "everything else" in a PUBLIC bathroom......

I'm confused ?

I haven't gone on a cruise yet, though planning to go maybe in 2011 or 2012.

Don't they have effective vents in the Stateroom Bathrooms?

Phil

Disney rooms...while bigger than most lines.....are still cabins, on a ship.

Tight quarters!

The public restrooms on the nightclub deck, and near the Walt Disney theater are ALWAYS deserted in the morning and afternoons! And they are plush! :thumbsup2

I'm talking granite, space, silence, and ventilation! :lmao:

And for you bears out there, Shrek assures me that the showers in the Spa are huge! That is the only place he will shower! And it's free!

:rainbow: Calling all Rainbow DIS'ers
How many of us going to GayDays 2010, are also going on pirate:PodCast Cruise 2.0 :sail: in Dec 2010?

I am going:wave:
