We are first time DVC users. We will be going to WDW in Jan. We are on a waiting list for BWV and have reservations at OKW. Any suggestions regarding where to stay. When I made the reservations, I was asked where would I prefer to stay, but being new really couldn't say. I want to make sure we are close to a bus stop and pool? Also, any slides at OKW pool? We are traveling 4 adults 4 children (ages 9-12) in a 2 bedroom. Do you think the kids will like it at OKW? Please share your experiences. Thanks , Anna

My DD's like OKW despite the fact that there is not a slide at the pool. We try to stay in building 63 or 64 because it is close to the main building, main pool, and Hanks where my girls (10,5,3) love to go and play. It is also close to the bus stop but we don't take the bus because of the little ones always falling asleep and we have to carry them, the stoller, and their junk and it gets tough!!

Others say it is too noisy in those buildings but we found it just fine!!

My children (4 and 8) loved it at OKW. The really liked sitting on our patio and watching all of the animals - ibis, rabbits, ducks, ...
Also, my daughter really enjoyed the sandbox area at the main pool, but we really enjoyed the quiet pools because we had the pool to ourselves most of the time that we were there.

We found the BoardWalk fun to visit and appreciate its proximity to the parks, but liked the quiet of being at OKW. It gave my family the needed time to relax after all of the excitement at the parks.

Our favorite building to stay is 43. Close to a bus stop but not too close where you hear the busses. Close to the Turtle Pond pool where there is a snack bar and playground. Also, not close to the outside roads where you get road noise. We have stayed in some buildings that were noisy with busses and street noise, not happy with them at all. Hope you have a great trip, Beth

We just came back from OKw about 2 weeks ago. We were in Bldg. 11 and it was great; right across from the hospitality house and main pool etc. It's a really nice location.

annamcc,

We are also going in January and are on the waiting list for BWV. I have been surprised that it's been so busy in January!!!! We are also staying at OKW. We haven't been there before, but I think it will be fine. We are asking for a room as close to the Hospitality House as possible. Our personal preference is to be as close to the main pool and activities as possible.

We will be there in January too. January is often busy at DVC since it is a low point time.

We have requested non-smoking in buildings 52-56 to be near Southpoint, that quiet pool and the walkway to DD.

I'm with Beth on this one for all the reasons she mentioned. Plus, Turtle Pond is in section two of DVC. The One and two-bedroom units have a separate entry from the master bedroom to the bathroom, which comes in really handy. The original DVC buildings near the HH only have the one entrance.
