Suggestions to buy to keep all important documents in?

I love these ideas! I used to use just a regular file folder, things were always falling out and I would have to shuffle thru everything to get to what I wanted! I am going to have to go out and get one of those expandable folders. Thanks so much!

Hi There! I went to a local travel store here in my city and got a "Passport carrier" that is much like the one that is listed above. It will fit my passport, my neices passport, and travel documents. I am JUST like you, and want to have it all in one location, and easily accessible. Ive also heard that Walgreens carries something like this as well, for not quite as expensive as the one on Levenger.

On a separate note, what does everyone recommend for excursions? A canvas tote? A backpack? A fanny pack? An oversized purse? A beach bag? As you can tell, I have all these bags on my floor, Im trying to decide which one is the best option! Thanks!

I use a laptop carrier. It is large enough to hold the 11x15 notebook that I have glued small manilla envelopes, which hold all my booklets, maps, receipts, wrappers, etc, plus, it holds my passporter into which I have tucked my passport, Disney dollars, tickets, schedules, and the confirmation letters for every excursion, show, park, and pit stop that I contacted while planning my trip. The laptop carrier has a comfortable and adjustaple shoulder strap and a centrally-mounted handle and a BUNCH of little pockets. It is a sort of vinyl fabric that will shed rainwater, too.

No laptop, though. To keep it from being stolen as a laptop I tied a bright pink scarf around the ring that the shoulder strap attaches to..... Other odd camoflage could do as well...Plastic baby bottle in an outside mesh pocket?

I too purchased the clear "colored" vinyl expandable "pouches" with a button & string closure. They were 3 in a pack - 1 full size, 1 half size and 1 quarter size at my local Dollar General Store for $1.00 for the package. I am keeping my confirmation documents in the large one and the half size is just perfect for the Birth Certificates (unless I decide to get Passports).

Only 403 Days till our first Disney 4-Day Wonder Cruise.
Can't wait.:Pinkbounc :wave2: :bounce:

These are all great suggestions! I especially like the bag from Old Navy, as it seems that I am always the one carrying everything!

I bought the deluxe version of the Passporter, which I used to keep everything in. It has pockets for each day of your trip, and I just slid the plane tickets, room reservations, cruise docs into the pocket for the appropriate day. At first I wasn't sure that I wanted to bring the book along, thinking I wouldn't use it, but I referred to it several times while we were onboard, and was really glad to have it.

On the outside of the pockets is a form set up to make notes for that day , confirmation numbers, and such, and then notes about the day, including budget, meals, notes for next time, etc. which I thought was a great idea for scrapping the trip later on. See Jennifer's video - about 2/3 of the way she talks about the

I like the binder idea with the page protectors - if you get the archival type for photos, you could also have a protector for each day of your trip, and keep your paper "souvenirs", Shutters photos, etc. there, and then all your precious things would be all together. You could also add a 3-hole punched pad to make notes about each day.

What does everyone do with their important docs (passport, KTTW card) while they're in the water? I can't imagine that everyone just leaves this stuff on the beach.....

I would think that it would be much easier to take a driver's license when you leave the ship, instead of your passport. Some people use water wallets for their KTTW card and ID.

The water wallets that you can purchase either at the Dis shop or onboard are just big enough to carry your license, KTTW card and some cash. That's what most of the folks on our cruise used.

I bought a great expandable file at Staples. It is like a vinyl finish with cloth trip and cloth straps that fold over the corners to secure it. I put in file folders and each one had a different theme. Since we went to Universal first for four days and then the cruise, we had a folder each for airline info, Royal Pacific, Universal, Towncar service, cruise info and shore excursion info. Then on the way home, the folder was a great support document to transport the cruise photos in so they wouldn't get bent.

Wow, I can't believe how many responses I got, thank you everyone!! I really appreciate all the advice you've given me. Now I have to go check it all out....let's see, the Dollar store, Walmart, Staples...oh, this is fun. :D

Last trip I used a half size, plastic expandable file folder from Walmart. Worked pretty well, but just a little big.
I just ordered this Ticket Organizer from LL Bean:

THANKS for sharing the link to LLBean. I ADORE that ticket holder, and plan on ordering one for me!!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

Steve ordered the sling pack from Old Navy last night! It looks great! You can add us to the list of expandable file users too! I bought one at Target for $1.38. One pocket for each need and then it will be used to carry back any papers and photos we want to keep. I like the ticket organizer too...but, alas, we are driving this year, so we won't need it!

Believe it or not, I just found in my Target a 8 1/2 x 11 pad attached to a three ring binder adaptor and that's just what I plan to use it for!!

We use the transparent expandable file too. I purchase one as soon as we start planning our trip, and all my printout and confirmations go in there as we plan. Then I stuff all our receipts and souvenir maps, fastpasses, etc in there as the vacation goes on, and when we return, it all gets filed away. It's neat to look back through old receipts sometimes :)
