We are doing a 5-night Western out of Miami in February 2016. We've been on 3 other Disney cruises but all were out of Port Canaveral, so this is a first for Miami. We will be flying into Fort Lauderdale (FLL) the day before and was thinking of booking SAS transportation from the airport to a hotel near Port. Or are we better off staying near FLL airport and arranging for transportation to take us to port in the morning? Looking for recommendations, and hotel suggestions near FLL airport or near port. Don't want to break the bank on 1 night in a hotel! There are 4 adults and 2 children in our group. Thank you!

We got a fabulous deal at the Intercontinental in November on Hotwire....$83/night!

We got a good deal at the Comfort Suites Miami Airport North in January. They offer free breakfast and free transfer to the port.

Couple of considerations of ideas, one is to fly to FLL and take the transportation to Miami hotel and then book a cab/van to the port. Miami hotels are used to this and the hotel front desk can help guide you to booking transportation to the cruise port. I know that many folks have found that the costs of hotels in the Miami area are higher and you also have to consider transportation fees twice, once from the airport, then to the cruise ship. The second alternative is to stay in Fort Lauderdale the night before and take a shuttle in the morning to the cruise port. From FLL, you may be able to get free transportation from the airport to your hotel so the only cost would be to the cruise port in the morning. In many cases, the hotels are cheaper in FLL.

Just my thoughts. I have stayed in FLL the night before and had no trouble with shuttle to the port in the morning.

This is who we booked also for in May. We leave home at 6 am our time and don't get to Miami until 8:30 Miami time.

This is the hotel I was thinking about booking. The free transfer to the port is a great perk! How much did you pay for January? Right now the rate for our February date is $169.

Thanks for your input. I will do some more research on FLL hotels.

We booked at $135, after tax and fees it was $152. The room we booked has two queen bed and a 2 person sleeper sofa, so we will all squeeze into one room since it is just one night.

We are staying at the Comfort Suites in 13 days. We paid $107 plus tax. I figured the shuttle service from the airport and to the port made this a deal.
