Suggestions rather than Outrage

Okay, I too am very sorry and upset that some of our guests have lost their Community Leader status. I don't think it was fair to give a warning and a ban in the "same breath" as it were. On the other hand, several weeks ago there were topics that warned about this very issue. Perhaps, since no one is heeding those warnings, the Staff cranked it up a level.

I know that there is discussion of resigning, writing VMK in support of the lost Community Leaders, and so forth. That is grand that everyone is trying to support and help.

However, my concern is that the issue is being lost in the anger over the result. The issue is how to convey information that requires using numbers. Now, VMK is very clear on this point. Their world, their rules so let's try to think of a way to resolve the ISSUE so that no more of our Community Leaders and other guests who help each other get into this situation.

My idea is that VMK posts the numbers on the VMK Main page somewhere. Just create a chart that shows that you need to win ten games at each level of pirates to get invisibility. There are 50 Hidden Mickeys in the game. You need 240,000 points to win the fireworks magic pin. This chart could be on the game rules tab so that guests, who prefer to figure these things out for themselves, would not have their game spoiled. With such a chart, all the Community Leader would need to do is tell the guest, "Please look at the 'how to play' game section on the VMK main page."

I sent this recommendation in to VMK. Let's see what other ideas you'all can come up with to help fix the problem. Staff, if you are reading, please do give some thought to how to resolve the problem. We Community Leaders really do enjoy helping the guests and would like some direction out of this particular dilemma.

Again, I am very sorry for those who have lost their status. I know how terribly disappointed you are and I too think it was a bit unfair in the execution. My best advice is to keep trying to make contact, be calm and clear in your emails to VMK. Keep at it and don't lose hope or your sense of delight in the game.

The problem is that they are not clear. And while I agree with you that offering suggestions is the better way to go.
their rules about numbers have nothing to do with the reasons these players were banned.

They used code words for numbers in a way that was NOT against VMK TOS period.


I just got back from soccer sign ups so I have not read the threads you are referring to past the point where I posted to Flys.

I think that saying that you are going to quit VMK is alittle immature and pointless. I do not think they would care one way or another.

Maybe I should go read the posts before I stepped on some toes I do not want to step on.

All day I have been scanning these posts inbetween getting some work done and it has taken everything in me not to become involved in some of the heated arguments brewing about this mess. MissBelle can attest to my having strong opinions about the situation and how these posts are adding to the problem.

Posting how you feel does not ever add to the problem. Nothing will or can be changed to make this game "all the game it should be and can be" if everyone who plays never expresses their feelings about the rights and wrongs of the game. So bite your tongue if you must but as always I will, and hope others do too, speak my mind about what bothers me about events, bannings and anything else I feel needs airing out about VMK. As I will also support the game I love and am addicted too.

"grunt" signifying ones, "GRUNT" signifying tens, "BIG GRUNT" signifying hundreds, and "GRUNT BIG TIME" signifying thousands. For instance, "grunt, BIG GRUNT BIG GRUNT, GRUNT GRUNT GRUNT GRUNT, GRUNT BIG TIME" for 240,001. How long before this would get banned, I wonder? All of you mathemeticians out there (budding or otherwise), feel free to refine this.

Posting how you feel does not ever add to the problem. Nothing will or can be changed to make this game "all the game it should be and can be" if everyone who plays never expresses their feelings about the rights and wrongs of the game. To clarify...I have strong feelings about the current CL situation and I also personally feel that the recent events have really dampered a lot of players' fun this week. Quite frankly, I have no problem with expressing my feelings and think it is great for people to do so. Unfortunately, though, I feel that all of the great things of VMK are being pushed to the background on the boards and want to move away from the negative and focus on the hidden positives. I am so tired of the complaints and ridicule; the negativity really is bringing things down.

As far as biting my tongue, I am tired of getting flamed by a select few on here; hence why I avoided sharing too much of what I thought of the situation.

I do try not to flame anyone for the most part.

As far as this board having alot of negative posts I don't see that but then again I don't like a board that is nothing but fluff. Don't get me wrong Fluff is good just not all fluff. It is like cotton candy I love it but if you eat too much of it you will get sick

Nah, just wanted to make sure everyone understood where I was coming from. I reread what I originally wrote and thought it could be misunderstood.

I think fluff and uh...what is the opposing side? Non-fluff? lol!...is a good thing too. I totally agree that too much fluff is not a good thing, but all day yesterday the focus was on negativity and it really brought many people down. I just want everyone to smile again!
