I know I have plenty of time to do this- but I figured I might as well ask while I remember to. I was trying to make a list of the TS restaurants I will make ADRs for.
Restaurants I plan on going to:
Boma
Coral Reef (it just looks cool)
Hoop-De-Doo- How does vegetarian at HDDMR work? Also, I will be solo- if anyone has done HDDMR veggie and solo, please share your experience(s).
Restaurants I was thinking about:
Sci-fi- looks cool but the one veggie dish has mango which I'm allergic to- is it worth making all the arrangements with the restaurant to get something meat and mango-free? Is the atmosphere (and a space monkey) worth the extra work?
Rose and Crown- probably just for dessert because all I want is sticky toffee pudding- is it okay to go to a restaurant just for coffee and dessert if I tip well (40-50%)? Vegetable "Pot Pie" doesn't sound very interesting.

Any reccomendations for veggie-friendly restaurants are welcome (CS and TS), especially in MK and Epcot.

Thanks in advance,
Alisa

You've chosen some nice spots--Boma is super!

For Hoop Dee Doo, you should tell them you're a vegetarian when you make your ADR. I think the meatless meal is spaghetti with tomato sauce?

Sci-Fi is a place I went to a long time ago and hated. It was well before I became a vegetarian. Since I don't know if the food still sucks or not, I can't say whether it's worth it to try for a mango-less and meatless meal.

Regarding ordering dessert only, I can't imagine that would be a problem, but I've never tried it.

Recommendations:
MK: Columbia Harbour House, Main Street Bakery, Crystal Palace.
Epcot: Tangierine Cafe, Sunshine Seasons.

Rose and Crown is limited for Veggie but I would say go to it either at lunch (do some nice salady things) or ask at the bar (as it is on the bar menu too - http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_rcp.htm)rather than going to the main resturant as they should be able to do that for you. Expecially at night R&C is massively busy and so taking up a table for dessert might make you feel uncomfortable if you know people are waiting. Lunch has better veggie options anyway as you can ask for the Ploughmans without the meat and they should be able to do that (have done for me in the past anyway) or do my other favourite thing have the cheese plate and mushroom medley instead of having a main.

Columbia Harbour House (CS) at Magic Kingdom does an amasing Vegetable Sandwich (Lighthouse sandwich) and vegetarian chilli combo meal! It is the best veggie food I have ever tasted!

Most veggie meals I have I must admit I haven't been overly impressed with at Disney. Im sure there are some nice ones out there but I always choose bad ones.

Coral reef was an amazing meal last year, it was so good!

At sci-fi this year I think I will stick with a veggie burger, I am not too sure about their other dish. I also am looking forward to crystal palace as I have read some great reviews! I also have to vote for the lighthouse sandwich, heaven on bread!

You would be surprised at what Disney can do for you. We went to the 50s Prime Time with a vegetarian friend and she didn't make any special arrangements. She asked for a turkey sandwich without the turkey. The server then gave her about five different options for her meal.

For Sci-Fi a LOT of people here complain about their food (I think it's fine). It might not be a bad idea to get a freshly prepared meal there. I'd call and see what they could do.

I am going to suggest you use the search feature and search 'vegetarian', 'vegetarian dining,' 'vegetarian review' for a few to start with. My mom is vegetarian and we are going for 9 days at Thanksgiving. I canceled our Rose and Crown ADR partly due to the very limited (and poorly reviewed) veggie meal there. We are doing HDDR for T-Day. They have the vegetarian request noted and we were told we can ask the chef to come out to help with choices for the meal. I have heard of several different vegetarian meals being served here.

Here is one great thread to get you started, it's long and detailed

Vegetarian Dining on the DDP

I have found TONS of excellent dining reviews that were from people dining vegetarian (Just go to the Dining Reviews thread and look for threads with vegetarian in them) and I was able to send my mom links to the menus and suggestions for the meals. Hope this helps you-- Have fun!

You really should try the California Grill (our favorite). They have many veggie options and are happy to accomodate vetetarians.

Fresh at the Dolphin for breakfast!

My Mom's a vegetarian and the best meal she had for the whole trip was at the Princess dinner in Norway. We told the waiter that she was a vegetarian and he said that he was as well and there wasn't a lot on the menu that suited her needs. He then said that he would be able to tell the chef and they would create a special off-the-menu dish just for her. The chef was orginally supposed to come out and talk with her, but he was very busy with taking care of kids and parents with allergies that night. He made her some sort of ravioli creation with mushrooms, red peppers and a delicious cream sauce. She loved it :thumbsup2 .

Next time we go the WDW with my Mom, or anyone with special dietary needs, I'll be making them note it with my ADR for any TS meal. We only found out about the special requests on our last meal, but since it was a short trip (4 days) and we ate at a lot of buffets, it wasn't such a big deal. Now I know...

Oh -- my Mom also really liked the Crystal Palace lunch buffet as well. Tons of veggies and different options.

I do have to add that there were times for CS meals that she did have a hard time finding something she really liked. I'm sure with some more planning ahead of time we could have done better for her.

I was pleasantly surprised at how vegetarian friendly WDW is. I wish the rest of the world was so accommodating!

Best Veg Counter Service in Epcot: Tangierine Cafe. In a word - YUM.

Last year, for table service, we ate at Artist Point, California Grill, Rose & Crown, San Angel Inn & Jiko. They were all good and not at all hard to order vegetarian. I think my favorite was Artist Point. The entree was "Potato Chive Pot Stickers with edamame, spinach and soy vinaigrette". Really inventive and delicious.

I've heard (and read) good things about Boma and Coral Reef. I almost never hear (or read) anything good about Sci-Fi, other than it's a cool place. I think the typical advice is to approach it as an attraction, rather than a restaurant.

Take a look at the menus on allears.net. They're very helpful. Good luck!

Kona Cafe offered a delicious-sounding veggie stir fry last week, but I opted for the Shrimp & Scallops instead. . .drool.

Try this: www.allears.net
Click on "Dining". On the left hand side of the screen you will see a link for "Vegetarian/Vegan". Lots of good info there. Hope that helps.

We're an ovo-lacto family, we had no problems finding food everywhere on our trip last year.

Boma was wonderful.

At Sci-Fi lunch, I had the rueben without the meat, basically a fancy grilled cheese but it was good. They offered a veggie burger but I don't care for Boca burgers.

Crystal Palace had a suprising amount of interesting veggie items on the lunch buffet. I highly reccomend it.

Sunshine Seasons is a good CS place in Epcot for veggie options.

One pleasant surprise for us was CRT dinner. The kid's menu had no veggie options listed, which is unusual. There is usually the obligatory mac and cheese at least. But we requested veggie ahead of time and my DD got a smaller plate of the same pasta dish as the adults. It was very tasty and much better than the typical kids' meal.

The bakery has a delicious veggie panini -- grilled or cold -- grilled was fantastic!

Spoodles has several veggie appetizers and salads. For a main course they will offer you pasta or gnocci with veggies. We've had both, and they were delicious.

We also have had enormous success at 1900 Park Fare -- our family favorite.
