My Mother in Law is going to visit family Northern Ireland this month and is wondering what small present from the US she can bring for her all the young kids in her family.

My wife and I thought she could bring Silly Bands since they are popular here and may not be popular there, so it may be interesting. My wife also suggested "American Gum" because when she went 20 years ago all the kids were asking her for it.

Any thoughts from everybody overseas, what do you bring back from the states for the kiddies?

We just had family visiting the states from Ireland with three children ages 8, 5 and 3. We always try to get them special little gifts when they arrive. And yes, Silly Bandz were a big hit. My 8 year old insisted that's what he had to get his 8 year old cousin and she loved them.

We also try to get gifts that are representative of what we do or where we are from. We spent a day in Boston, so they received the book Make Way for Ducklings and of course the requisite Boston Red Sox hats and t shirts.

My uncle was born and raised in Boston, married a woman from Ireland and they live in Dublin now. Some random things he misses and always buys to bring back are twix bars, pancake mix and Hershey's chocolate syrup - he says you just can't buy these in Ireland. And the new find this year, Magic Eraser Sponges - can anyone live without these things!?! ;)
