We are cruising the Western Caribbean next year. I cannot find anything interesting to do while in Grand Cayman. Any suggestions??? It will be me, hubby and 13 year old DD?

Would you and your 13 yo DD be interested in Jet skiing? If so, check out Fat Fish Adventures private tour for Sting Rays.... my DS was only 4, so we booked their boat trip, but the people on the jetskis said they had an awesome time!!!

We just did this cruise last month. It was myself, DH, and our kids ages 7 and 10. We booked stingray city with Captain Marvins and it was amazing. I highly recommend this. We went to Stingray city and did a snorkeling stop. It was less crowded and less expensive than the DCL port adventure.

Thank you. I will look into this!!!

We have never tried jet skiing. Maybe this will be a great first experience for all of us!! Thx!

I would not recommend Grand Cayman as a good spot for first time jet skiing (at least not if you are thinking about going off 7 mile beach). There are way too many jet skis and other water activities off the beach and lots of inexperienced riders and very little focus on safety. The day we were there we witnessed the horrific aftermath of a fatal jet ski accident. If you want to try jet skiing for the first time, Castaway Cay is a good spot.

We booked through Island Marketing for jet skis to Stingray City, Rum Point Beach and Starfish Pointe. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

For those of you that have done the jet ski tours how hard is it to get back on the jet ski from the water? I have ridden a jet ski once but it was a long time ago.

stingraycity.com runs an excellent tour as well - typically gets to teh rays before most boats and is far less crowded - take a max of like 25 on a boat that seats 75 - Chip and his crew are awesome to deal with as well. We have used them 3 times

We have Moby Dick Tours reserved for next week. The price seemed reasonable and the reviews are quite good.

I am not going to lie, it was pretty difficult for me to get back on. I am very Pooh sized. My family ownes a waverunner just like the one we were on but ours has the pull down step in the back to make it easy to get back on, these did not. Our guide was WONDERFUL and assisted everyone back on their waverunners. He would let you stand on his knee and give you a boost back on.

A friend got a day pass at the Westin Grand Cayman 7 Mile beach. Apparently gives you access to a hotel room to shower/rest etc, plus all the amenities of the hotel and beach. Just a thought if you were interested in something like that.

We did the shipwreck snuba, and it was the highlight of the cruise for my kids. They were 13, 10 and 9 at the time.

We're signed up with Fat Fish Adventures jet ski tour for this Nov. 6th. We have a 6 year old girl (who has no fear). Hopefully the weather will be good and it'll be fun.

I'm a little nervous about it, but we're keeping our fingers crossed.

Private tours for stingrays you say?? That sounds awesome. I take it Fat Fish Adventures is a tour group outside of Disney's provided options?

Another vote for Captain Marvin's Stingray City and snorkel tour. We have done it twice, would do it again!

When I went to Grand Cayman with my family when I was younger we did Stingray City through shoretrips.com, I think. My family loved it. I was terrified and stayed on the tour boat. When my husband and I went there on our honeymoon we decided not to do an activity there and wandered around and shopped. It's a cute area that felt safer to me than many of the other Caribbean or Mexican ports, so it was nice to have some unguided sightseeing time.

If you're looking for a DCL excursion that's half day, we really enjoyed the Island Tour and Snorkeling with Stingrays. We were back by 12:15 so there was plenty of time to do something on our own and we liked seeing the island as well as stopping at the Turtle Farm for 45 minutes. Stingray City, though, was the real highlight. What an amazing experience!!
