This will be our first Disney cruise. With 3 boys (age 7, 5, 5), what would be the best thing to do on the day of Nassu without breaking the bank? Should we just stay in the ship and enjoy the amenities there?

By all means, get off the ship for a while. You can have it both ways!

I would recommend the Greycliff Hotel Chocolate Factory Tour which usually runs about 2 hours or so. We've been on it twice now.
Took the morning tour, came back to Cabanas for lunch, and then had the afternoon free to either stay on the ship or do a little shopping downtown.

We took our 5 and 8 yr old to British Colonial Hilton and had an awesome beach day. We got the Day passes ahead of time. it was an easy 10 minute walk to the hotel.

Another vote to make it a sea day!

We sailed with our grandkids last Feb. ages 6 & 4 (at the time) and we just stayed on the ship on Nassau day and they had a blast in the pool, it was quiet on deck and the pools were less crowded too. It was a great day, we did our Frozen and princess meets on this day too, worked out perfectly.

My family liked the Pirate Museum in Nassau. And it is walkable from the ship.

We're currently planning to do the Ardastra Gardens and City Tour in Nassau end of November this year with 4 adults, a 21 month old and a 5 yo. We will have been at CC the day before and didn't want two beach days in a row since SIL and DH aren't really beach or pool guys. We're taking a fold up stroller and figured the kids would like the bus ride and the animals. DH and I plan to stroll around the gardens. Since we're cruising out of Galveston and have two sea days following Nassau we figured we'd enjoy spending the morning off the ship.
