Suggestions for early arrival?

My family will be visiting DLR in mid-June, after a week in Hawaii. We will be arriving at LAX about 5:30am on a Friday, and plan on spending the day at DL. Any suggestions on what to do until DL opens for the day? What time should the parking garage be open?

We are still debating on a hotel for the night (we are going to Channel Islands N.P. the next day), but if we had a reservation at a Disney hotel, would we be able to check in at, say, at 7am? Then we wouldn't need to worry about the parking garage.

Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated!

You should be able to do early check in whenever you arrive even if your room isn't ready. That goes for the Disney hotels as well as most of the offsite hotels. Then you can park and leave your luggage at concierge.
Maybe for something to do before park opening you could do a Character breakfast at one of the hotels or even at Minnie's inside DL they have breakfast seatings before park opening. Not sure if they do early breakfasts at Ariel's in DCA though. I hope you guys get some sleep on the plane from Hawaii you are going to have a busy day!

You actually are not arriving that early....I know it seems crazy, but by the time you deplane, get your luggage, and get from LAX to DL it will probably be after 7:00. You can definately check in at that time, and by the time you grab a bite to eat it will be time to line up at the gates by 7:45, tickets in hand!!!

Thanks for the responses! I tried telling DH that we really don't have a lot of time to kill, but he wouldn't believe me until seeing your replies!

I think we'll head straight to DLR, get breakfast, then off to DL! In the afternoon we'll go to the hotel for a nap, then hopefully back into the parks.

Only two more months - can't wait!
