Hello WISH-ers! I posted this the other day and got no replies - thought I'd try again and see if I had any better luck! :goodvibes
I am going on 2 long weekend trips soon and I don't know what I am going to do about eating breakfast out!! Since I started WW about 10 weeks ago, I haven't had an egg or a pancake or waffle or anything else like that! It works better for me to keep my breakfast points low (a fiber bar and fruit) so I can have more points later in the day! Sooo...other than bringing my fiber bars to the restaurant and ordering fruit...does anyone have any suggestions? :confused3 TIA!

I'm not sure what your travelling situation will be like, but if you have a say in where you're eating, maybe you could do some research now on the places you'll be travelling to and see if you can find online menus? That way you could kind of have an idea of what you can order without going overboard on the points.

Also, I was just watching Rachael Ray's $40 a Day, and it seems like she is able to find healthy breakfast options. At one restaurant, she ordered granola w/ skim milk and fruit. I've also seen her order whole wheat crepes or pancakes (I'm not sure how that translates in terms of WW points).

But I would say bring the fiber bar just in case, and if you don't see anything acceptable on the menu, go ahead and order the fruit and eat the bar. As long as you are ordering something, I don't think the restaurant would mind.

I am sorry that you didn't get answers. I don't do WW so I don't know what the points are valued. My thought would be with the poster above. Restaurants today should be able to deal with people on WW. There should be a way to make those healthy choices.

Thank you for keeping at the question.

I WISH that there are others here that have experiences that can be shared.

You should be able to get scrambled egg whites for no points. My usual breakfast consists of a WW English muffin, 2 egg whites, one piece of low fat cheese and 2 oz of low fat ham for a grand total of 2.5 points.

I would say stick with egg whites if possible!

Good luck!

Several restaurants are offering Egg Beaters as on option and I have had several very yummy omlets made with Egg Beaters. If that isn't available, as said above you can always ask for egg whites only. See if they have any whole grain toast and ask for some jam or sugar free preserves. Fruit is always a great option too and many places have some yummy seasonal stuff available. Good luck and have a great trip.

PS - If you are going to any chain restaurants try www.dwlz.com and check out her restaurant menus for some ideas.

I second the egg beaters suggestion. So many restaurants are offering them now. Also fresh fruit would be good - wouldn't a cup be 1 or 2 points at the most? I think bacon runs about 1 point a piece so that would get you some protein. Maybe oatmeal?

i think the main thing is stay away from muffins and juices since they really add up.

Could you have a McDonalds egg mcmuffin? No butter on the muffin, no cheese, just canadian bacon, and egg? Maybe eat only half the english muffin? That would definetly give you some much needed protein for a busy day. Their website should give you the calories and maybe the WW points.
