Suggestions for breakfast for a day at Downtown Disney?

Just wondering where would be a good breakfast place for doing Downtown Disney for the day? We are staying at the GF but not sure I want to book the 1900 Park Fare breakfast or not and would like suggestions on some different options. I really wanted Cape May but I am not sure that is located anywhere near Downtown Disney. Can anyone direct me to what would be some good options. I was looking for a sit down and maybe character interaction. I had thought of taking the monorail over to the Poly for the Kona Cafe. We already have Lilo & Stitch for another day so didn't want to do that again. I would appreciate the help-THANKS!

All resorts have transportation to DD, so I wouldn't sweat proximity.

Cape May is a better dinner buffet, imho. For breakfast, i'd recommend Wispering Canyon. Loads of fun and just a couple of boat rides away from GF.

I would suggest either the Grand Floridian cafe or walking over to Kona cafe at the Poly resort.
