Suggestions for AK/Epcot Split Day

I'm thinking of splitting a day between AK and Epcot. Is this doable? We're staying at CR and won't be catching the bus at the crack of dawn to get to AK. Was thinking of just going to AK with no FPs, and using our FPs that afternoon at Epcot.

Will we be waiting forever for the Safari, mid-morning, without a FP? We'll be there at the end of September.

I would think so. AK can be done in half day. If you have children, it may slow you down though. Depends on how much you want to do at Epcot. The rides can be done in half day.

We are doing AK and MK in one day in December. I don't plan to use FP+ at AK, but we do plan to get there for RD.

It can be done, I'm not sure about mid-morning though. I've done both in one day, I've also taken an entire day for AK and 3 days to do Epcot. Just according to how much you want to get done on that day. I've never used a FP for the safari and most times EE has been a walk on or no longer than a 20 min. wait for me.

heck, our plan is AK - DHS - Epcot! We'll start the day around 10 and do whatever we can in AK until about 5 - hop to DHS for the Osbourne Lights & Fantasmic and then to Epcot for Illuminations!

For those two parks I would start at Epcot at rope drop and do Soarin and FPP Test Track then Mission Space then Spaceship Earth, fitting in the rest of future world around your FPP. Then eat lunch. Over to AK and pick up the best FPP they have available, see either Lion King or Nemo but save Everest and Kali for the last half hour or so. AK closes early and in my experience if you hang out for the last half hour you can do Everest in a loop should you wish without a line. The hard ride to deal with in this plan would be the safari. You will have to queue unless you find there is still a FPP for it. You could then still hop back to Epcot again for an evening meal, World Showcase and Illuminations.

We did what @scoobydooby did in March. We managed to get a Safari FP+ after modifying one for Primevil Whirl. Everest wasn't bad to get; plus, it has a single rider line. We don't do Kali. Epcot had PM EMH, so it worked out well. The park does tend to empty out toward the late afternoon, especially if it starts raining. Keep in mind, once River of Lights opens, AK will probably stay busier later. I think it's supposed to open March or Spring 2016.
