Suggestions for 4th of July at BCV?

We are staying on points for the first time ever in July. I am so excited, it is all I can think about. We will be at BCV July 3-8 and I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice about what to do (or to avoid) on the 4th? I'm guessing the fireworks at Epcot will be the best bet since we will be able to walk back to our room? We have never been to WDW in July before, we usually go in August.

We were there last July 4. It was really amazing. We did go to MK for the fireworks there. They were absolutly incredible. We were staying at BCV, which is our home. We have no idea how we did this but after the MK fireworks we left that park, in that huge crowd, and made it back in time to see some of MGM's fireworks as we were walking from the bus. Then we got back to our room, we had an Epcot view, and saw about three quarters of Epcot's July 4th fireworks. As soon as they were done they went right into Illuminations. It was really a great night for fireworks. Even with crowds. We were very lucky.

We were at BCV last July 4th. We did Epcot in the am, swam and relaxed during the afternoon, then we went to MGM to ride RnR and TOT, took a bus to Contempary for dinner. We had Chef Mickey's reservations , watched the fireworks from the Contempary.. and then walked to MK.. and had a wonderful time riding all the E rides with very little line or wait until midnight when the park closed...

My advise is to make it a pool day with Epcot at nite. In '03 Epcot was the last to display its fireworks. We were standing near China and had a cool view of MGM's -yes MGM - display off to our left and MK's display off to the right. It was like fireworks in stereo. Epcot then did Illum followed by an additional patriotic display. AWESOME.

Don't kill yourself trying to do too much on the 4th. Relax. DVC means never having to do it all NOW.

I think a pool day sounds perfect. We learned our lesson last year when we drove to Boston on july 3rd, toured the city (on foot) on the 4th and then tried to watch the fireworks that our evening. By the time the fireworks started we had a revolt on our hands. The only fireworks I saw last year were the ones I could see over my shoulder walking back to the hotel carrying a crying/exhausted 3 year old.

I won't make that mistake again.

We’ll be at BWV on about the same dates (July 3-9). Our tentative plan is to hit MGM in the morning, pool in the afternoon, and Epcot for the evening and fireworks. KNWVIKING Thanks for the China tip to see fireworks in stereo!!

We were at BCV last July 4th. We went to see fireworks at MGM, then I walked to Epcot to catch the special IllumiNations fireworks. (The rest of my family opted to stay for Fantasmic at MGM). I guess that a lot of people had the same plan to catch fireworks at both places because the boat from MGM to Epcot was full. I had plenty of time to make the walk and find a spot to view the Epcot fireworks.

We knew when we made the ressies at BCV that we didn't want to face the crowds at the Magic Kingdom. If we had wanted to see those fireworks, we would have opted for a room at one of the Magic Kingdom resorts in order to facilitate getting back to our rooms.

we will be at the bwv 7/3 to 7/8 as well looking forward to the 4th haven't figured out what exactly to do so I will be looking for ideas as well. Is anyone extending there stay anywhere else . Anyone know of any special deals for the 1-3 or 8-10 or suggestions. thanks
