My only child turns 21 this summer! We are wanting to take a trip to celebrate. Would love to hear some suggestions for places to go - so far we are considering a cruise or an all-inclusive resort somewhere but are open to other ideas. We've never done either of those before so advice/recommendations are most welcome. Vegas has also been thrown out as an option too but again, we've never been there so not really sure how to start planning.

She said that she will go anywhere as long as she can have fun!

VEGAS BAYBEEEE, since you never been wil be more planing and new for both of you, thats the way to go

Yeah. For 21, Vegas is it. We're happy to help you plan. I'm going in a week for the billionth time. Home away from home!

Vegas
New Orleans

Really, pretty much anywhere excessive drinking is encouraged :)

I'd definitely go with Vegas. There's a lot to do there that requires being 21 so you'll have the 1st experience. My dd is 17 and she's been 3 times already. It seems to be the popular spot for family reunions.

Besides picking a hotel and maybe show tickets it really doesn't require extensive planning. For hotel I'd recommend one mid strip. That allows you easy access to lots of other resorts.

I'm joining in and tagging along. My DD is turning 21 in late Spring and her 3 closest cousins will all have turned 21 in the first half of 2017. DD and my niece have just decided to plan a group trip to Vegas for Summer. My siblings and I took them on a graduation trip to WDW in 2014. This will be their first big, planned all by them with no "parent adults" in the group, trip.

@sonnyjane and anyone else with opinions. They'd love advice on the best hotel (mid strip) for a young group. They'll want a great pool. It's been years since I've been so I'm not much help.

Mid-strip, budget-friendly with great pool, I'd recommend Mirage. Then a little more pricey would be Venetian and Caesars. Bellagio has a great pool too, but that's where I go when I go with my husband, not for girl's trips. It's pretty expensive (not just rooms, but drinks will sink you). Now, the other thing that's popular "with the kids" (i.e. not me anymore - except for bachelorette parties) are just going to other resorts for their daytime pool clubs, so they could stay at the hotel of their choice but then cab it down to Marquis or Wet Republic etc. etc. for the day. But if they just want a fun pool at their resort, I think Mirage would be a good recommendation. I personally don't stay there anymore because of the dolphins but it's honestly one of the best one-stop-shop resorts as far as great pool, great location, good prices, and lots of dining options. I used to stay there every time but haven't for a couple of years now.

Summer almost always has good deals.. so shop around.. some will offer $50 dining credits, or free buffets, discounted shows, etc.
