Rational debate wanted (that means you have to back up assertions, and keep your emotions in check).
Knock it off calls should be made when the fight splinters excessively; feel free to type Knock it off on a specific subject, start a new post on that subject and then post the hyperlink as part of the knock it off call. For example:
Knock it off on Bush wearing panties while in the oval office; proceed to disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=<your thread ID goes here>
For those who want to take the thread in a new direction, I think stating it in your thread and referencing, as above, might be helpful. I think this may help all of us proceed with our arguing with a little less chaos, and might actually lead to a more coherent argument (for some of us, others cant be helped
).
Having said this, Fights ON!
p.s. I have noticed on the more serious topics here that there seems to be a certain amount of what I can only describe as posters rage roughly analogous to what we all see and experience on the roads every day during rush-hour traffic. Now I myself have driven in anger, and I suspect I might sometime also post in anger, and have no problem with being taken to task for this. I think this should be expected, and should be contained within the original thread. I think all other tangents should be addressed in the manner above.
