My parents decided last week to join us on our trip - yay! I was able to change a couple of my ADRs to tables for five; or get them their own 2-person ADR at the same time and place as us; or change restaurants (where I was willing to do so) to accommodate a larger party size.

However, there are some times where I cannot get new ADRs and I need some ideas. I am basically functioning as their travel agent - they haven't been to Disney since 2007, well before FP+, Magic Bands, and 6-months-ahead ADRs - although my dad has been learning the My Disney Experience site, too.

FYI, they are staying at Pop (so are we) and they have five-day park hoppers. They are on the regular DDP.

Here is their park touring plan:
  • April 3: EPCOT without us. They super love Rose & Crown so I got them the latest dinner ADR I could (6:50 PM) and will try to move it later. They will probably have lunch at Sunshine Seasons (my mom's favorite), so I actually don't really need help for this day!

  • April 4: Hollywood Studios with us. We have the Fantasmic! package for lunch (Mama Melrose) and Captain's Grille for dinnner, so no help needed here, either!

  • April 5: Magic Kingdom with us. This is where it gets tricky!
    • DH, DD, and I have an 8:10am ADR for BOG. If I can't get my parents a reservation, or a reservation that includes all of us, where would you recommend they grab breakfast? My dad doesn't love the value resort food courts, so they will want to eat in MK.
    • We are planning on CHH for lunch, and they'll probably join us.
    • They are taking my daughter to HDDR for dinner (my mom is so excited!) and DH and I are going to Kona.
  • April 6: Animal Kingdom with us.
    • DH, DD, and I have an 8:20am ADR for Tusker House. If I can't get my parents a reservation, or a reservation that includes all of us, where would you recommend they grab breakfast? Again, somewhere in the park would be perfect.
    • We love Flame Tree BBQ and will probably eat there for lunch.
    • DH, DD, and I are planing to go to Disney Springs this evening and eat at Earl of Sandwich. Any suggestions for my parents? They may or may not want to do DS. They have park hoppers, so they could eat in any park!
  • April 7: TBD water park without us. (They LOVE water parks.) They will probably have lunch at a QS at the water park. We have two separate ADRs at 1900 PF for dinner. I was so lucky that an ADR for two was available at the same time as our ADR for three! So, no help needed here, either.
Any suggestions on MK breakfast, AK breakfast, and a dinner anywhere?

Unless it's an EMH morning, your parents can't enter the park until 9:00. How about an 8:00 ADR at the Wave at CR?

Rainforest Cafe at the entrance to AK serves breakfast. Make them an 8:00 ADR.

Boathouse or Raglan Road ADR, or Wolfgang Puck. The last is CS, but the service is better, and so is the food.

On April 5, if you want to line up with a QS (as you're doing at BOG), there are multiple snack options available to them after 9.

Minnie Mom got almost all my suggestion the other would be maybe Grand Floridian Cafe for breakfast on the MK day. As for DS while we haven't tried the Boathouse, we eat at Puck Express in the Marketplace 3 or 4 times a trip.I enjoyed my fish & chips more at Cooke's of Dublin CS more than the ones at Raglan Road.

Kona or GF Cafe for Breakfast on MK day. Chefs de France would be a great dinner for them. Boma is great for Dinner or Breakfast.

On your MK day, have your parents get breakfast at Kona and join you all in the parks afterwards. Kona will likely not only be cheaper than BoG, but has the best breakfast on property.

For AK, first keep trying to get the reservation for them as Tusker House is the one and only character breakfast we actually enjoy. I just got a reservation for 5 later in April the other day with no issue. You may need to be flexible on time, but I'm sure your parents would appreciate being included.

For DTD, why don't you have them look at menus and see what interests in the most. Raglan Road or Boathouse may be fun ideas and both can have reservations made via open table so you don't have to worry about a cancellation fee if they decide to just join you

If your parents don't want to do Disney Springs they can go to Epcot and eat their way around the world. They can sample foods from all the flower and garden kiosks around world showcase.

Try to grab two reservations for 1 person at BOG on April 5. Even if the times aren't exact, as long as they are pre-opening, you can all go in, order breakfast and sit together. I just searched and there is at least 1 reservation for one person available at 8:50 am. I would grab it and then search again for a party of one. If that doesn't work, I would reserve the Wave for your parents. You could all ride the bus to MK and then they can either walk or monorail to CR for their reservation.

There is a Tusker House reservation available for 2 on April 6 at 8:40 am. Snag it! You can all then go in together and request a table together when you check in. If you don't get the reservation, I, too, would recommend Rainforest Cafe.

So many options for their dinner alone! It really depends on the type of meal and atmosphere they like. Hollywood Brown Derby at DHS is nice. There are some great restaurants in the Boardwalk area - Trattoria al Forno, Flying Fish, bluezoo (our favorite). Or take a cab to AKL and eat at Sanaa or Jiko. Artist Point at WL is also excellent.

MK Breakfast: The Wave at the Contemporary. Wonderful buffet or regular sit down meal. A favorite! Can take monorail over from MK and walk back or just walk both ways. If they want something light, we recently picked up coffee and pastry at Starbucks and sat under umbrellas by The Plaza Restaurant in the morning -- peaceful.
