Sugar Free Butterbeer

So, we head out for UOR, at the end of the month and I have been doing Keto(ish) diet and plan to maintain it while on vacation (which is usually where any semblance of a healthy routine usually evaporates, because I give myself "a break", but the break turns into the new routine).

Anyway, I don't know that I could go without getting a Butterbeer...a day. I also think my body would go into sugar overload, because it hasn't had any in months. So, I started looking for a good solution and I am so pleased with what I found.

Three ingredients later, and, bam, I am literally licking the inside of my souvenir Butterbeer cup. I ordered the DaVinci Sugar Free Butterscotch syrup, and then bought some heavy whipping cream and a pack of Zevia Sugar Free Cream soda (12oz cans). I pour a small amount of whipping cream (about the amount they put on top of your Butterbeer, in the park) and a 1/4 bottle cap full of the syrup and whip until it is the desired consistency (not full on whipped cream). I then put a bottle cap full of syrup in my souvenir cup and pour in the Cream Soda (12oz is the perfect amount for the cup). I mixed that up and gently pour the whipping cream on top....maybe I have been without sugar or Butterbeer so long I can't remember, but this stuff is awesome. It's not the caramel color (it's clear), but it works for me. I will be packing these three ingredients for the trip.

Do you guys have any good Keto in the park alternatives? I think I know what I will do, but there may be something I've not thought of.
 
You’re doing a lot of walking. A butterbeer at lunch hits the spot. I like the frozen one. Yum.

I do intermittent fasting, which I pause when going on vacation.

UO is at best a 2-4 day resort. I wouldn’t worry about breaking a diet for such a short time period. And if you’re like me, you probably put on some COVID pounds. I’m up about five pounds.
 
I also found an Otter's Fizzy Orange Juice hack using the Zevia orange soda :) I love Zevia. I have since quit Keto, but still use Zevia as my soda of choice because it's so much better for you.

Anyway, I mix up some sugar replacement (whichever you use) and cinnamon (I just eyeball it) with a squirt or so of Sweetleaf Sweet Drops Vanilla flavor, stick that to the rim of my cup (I have to hand place it usually), and pour the orange zevia in, making sure to get some of the cinnamon "sugar" mixture into the glass. I then squeeze half an orange in for good measure and stir it all up, which also makes the drink the proper orange color. I might experiment more with the soda/juice ratio, but for you doing Keto you probably should skip the orange juice part entirely, as I think even half an orange's worth of juice is probably too many net carbs.

It's amazing <3 I'll have to try your Butterbeer version! I have the cream soda at home usually and never thought to try to make butterbeer at home before!

Actually, I am quite pleased with myself, during this time. I decided this go round that I would not get on any scales before I started, so I genuinely do not have a clue how much I weighed, when I started...but I know who does. I had a doctor's appointment the day before I started....for high blood pressure. They weighed me, but I asked not to tell me...I did not tell them I planned to start Keto the next day. I started hanging a shirt, in my bathroom, that was too small...every few days, I would try it on...until it fit. Then I would grab another one and do the same. I have gone through a shirt a month, but I am running out of shirts. I had a ton in my closet that would not fit...I literally have four, left, that are too small....but, I have a bunch that are too big! It's been 4 months and I have my next appointment with her in 2 months. I plan to not have them tell me my weight, but instead tell me the difference. I can tell you, it has been a total mind transformation...not the Keto stuff, but the not getting on a scale stuff...I can feel it in the clothes I wear and that makes me worry free. As for the Keto, I haven't broken for desire of something...there are alternatives, and the absolute worst thing I have done in four months was get a chicken wrap from Chick-fil-a...and that wasn't because I craved it...I was with a group and had to get something I could eat while riding in a car.

That sounds pretty good, but you are right, the OJ is not OK...as much as I love it. But, maybe I just make do without the OJ in it. Do you use just the Zevia orange soda or the orange cream soda?
 

It should still taste great without the OJ :) The orange zevia is orange-y enough, it's one of my favorites!

There aren't any orange cream sodas where I'm at, is that a new flavor? :OO
 
I thought I saw one that Zevia or someone had put out...I think marketed for kids.
