Sudden price change with southwest during check out and higher price for 7 passengers

Not being mean at all! I totally appreciate your input and at least knowing I'm not going crazy. I guess I just don't have a good handle on all the details of airfare. At least we have tickets. If they go up then I'm good and lower I'll try to change. I really didn't want to book this early for April but with it being a prime school vacation week I know I'd be kicking myself if I waited only to see prices increase. Live and learn I guess
You will be glad you booked your tickets for April. In my experience, I have seen tickets during that school vacation double in price as time goes by.

It really is a crap shoot -- i went around Easter time this year and i jumped on buying my ticket as soon as they went on sale. Very glad i did because every time i looked the prices increase. This time from Hartford CT to MCO was almost $500 per person on southwest -- I could save a little by taking a 6am return flight, but the 2:30pm sounds so much better and i know we will appreciate a leisurely last day. Even other airlines are still almost as much but then i would still be stuck paying the baggage fees.

Thank goodness for some cash back (over $500!!) with miles on the capital one venture card. It is amazing that i don't really use the card that much but was able to get that many point. I love using it for larger purchases that i pay right off a great way to stock up the point!!
