Chapter 38- Brulee, Beverly, and Beautiful Sunshine!

July 29th, 2011

What better place to head for our Dessert Take Two than Boulangerie Patisserie??

imagemfgz.jpg

This is our all-time favorite dessert place in Epcot. (Besides Kringla for me and school bread :P) Everything is so delicious, including the French CM's. ;)

We went in and, low and behold, gorgeous CM's everywhere. <33 YAY.

Now Dave, being a bottomless pit and all, decided to order TWO desserts.

He ordered a chocolate croissant:
fw3shrimpseminarbangkok.jpg

And a slice of chocolate cake:
fw3shrimpseminarbangkok.jpg

**Those two pics are courtesy of the Disney Food Blog.**

He's a pig. :P Both were really chocolaty and earned the approval of the chocolate connoisseur himself.

Mike, being a much less sugar-oriented guy, ordered a plain croissant.

dsc02887hs.jpg

It was light and flaky, and just what he wanted.

I ordered the creme brulee, much to Kelliroo's approval, I'm sure!

cremebruleefrance.jpg

We enjoyed our delicacies in the little seating area in the gift shop next to the bakery. I love those little tables. I don't know why but that little corner of France just reminds me of my childhood and eating croissants from the bakery. I love those memories. (:

After we ate we browsed a few more of the shops in France, and then continued on to my fave country, the UK!

On the way, I just had to zoom in on my all-time favorite Disney resort that I could see peeking between the trees in France, the Yacht Club!

dsc02891w.jpg

Ahh, home sweet home. <3

Beautiful France:

World Showcase Lagoon:

dsc02894m.jpg

The United Kingdom, govna!

dsc02895ua.jpg

dsc02898k.jpg

dsc02900s.jpg

The famous phone booth:
dsc02897n.jpg

I then decided to hide a bit and call the phone booths, to the dismay of an old man and to the fright of two little girls who thought I was the England Ghost or something..? I don't know why...I was being very friendly! Maybe it was because they couldn't see me...ah well! It was fun!

We shopped around in the UK a bit, and I bought an I <3 the UK shirt. Mike bought a futbol. :P AKA a soccer ball for you Americans. LOL.

Next was Canada, where I found these bad boys:
dsc02901s.jpg

Has anyone ever tried these? They are AMAZING. Like some of the best chocolate ever. I used to get them in Canada when I was younger, and I don't know why I didn't think to check in World Showcase for them! They are soooo good. I bought three. :P But I gave one to my cousin so it was okay. (: We're obsessed with Aero bars. <3

After that brilliant find, Dave decided that he wanted to go to the Imagination Pavilion to take this obligatory picture of me and Mike by those jumping fountains. We actually ended up riding Figment first (DUH, I prioritize.) and THEN and only then was it fountain time.

dsc02902p.jpg

It was feeling a little toasty in the sun at that point, so we went in that back entrance to Innoventions and just sat on the floor in the A/C and chilled. Well, Mike and Dave played with Mike's new futbol and I chilled. I just listened to that beautiful Innoventions music and took it all in. Sometimes you just have to do that sometimes, ya know? Just sit and listen. Otherwise, things fly by so fast and you miss them.

Just a little wisdom from Frumpsocrates today. (:

After about ten minutes of my breathing session we decided to hit up another classic for us, Club Cool!

dsc02903e.jpg

Does anyone spy the Hidden Mickey??

It had been years since I'd gone into Club Cool, and I was ready to give that Beverly a shot!

dsc02906q.jpg

Here I go:
dsc02904j.jpg

Yeah...not so much:
dsc02905ir.jpg

(Sorry for the blurry pic, btw. Mike was laughing so hard at my reaction that the camera was shaking.)

Of course, after that face there was no way Mike was gonna try it, so we both had some of this one:
dsc02907tp.jpg

Which was from God knows where and tasted like mangoes, so yeah.

Oh Club Cool, you are so obnoxious.

dsc02910jk.jpg

We headed back into Innoventions Plaza:
dsc02912nt.jpg

Just look at that gorgeous blue sky!

dsc02913l.jpg

dsc02914n.jpg

We had one more stop to make in Epcot, and then it was off to the next adventure!

Mmm, the patisserie. Great choice for second dessert! That creme brulee looks so yummy right now.

Love the Beverly picture. No one has a shot of me drinking Beverly, and with good reason. It would not be a pretty sight.

Whoa, I admire Dave's skill in eating that much. I wish I could eat three desserts in a row like that! I always want to do that at Disney, there is just too much deliciousness everywhere.

Oh my God LOL I'm finding it really funny that you inadvertently scared a family who thought you were "the England Ghost" whatever that is... How random and also very frumpy of course haha

I love the Aero bars too! Hershey's makes them now, but it's not as fun as getting them at Disney of course.

Yay for French CM's

CAKE!!!!!!! :love::love:

The croissants from there are delicious. I got one in January, remember? ahh good times.

The YaCHt Club!!!! :cloud9:

(I just love everything about this update so far)

OH MY GOD I forgot to tell you. I decided to call a UK phone booth yesterday and I had a nice chat with an Asian lady. It was a fun time. :rotfl:

Hahaha even though I hate pop I really feel like I should try the beverly just to see how I would react

Ugh I miss Epcot SO MUCH. TAKE ME THEREEEEEE :sad1:

I just spent the better part of 3 hours reading this entire report. Love love loving it. You are hilarious!

Nice of you to get one for your cousin :) my cousin and I are really close in age and we both happened to be in london a couple of months apart from each other so we both love to get each other things that remind us of london.

Very brave of you to try the beverly! Your face in the picture after you have the beverly is hillarious!

Pretty EPCOT Pics :)

Can't wait to hear more :) popcorn::

Okay first of all I would like to say that the poster above me has a picture of Stitch as their avatar AND exactly 626 posts at this moment. COULD THAT BE ANY MORE PERFECT? Hahaha sorry. Let's move on.

Yay! I'm glad you updated. (I was just kidding before, I know you're a busy girl!)

Can you believe I've NEVER been to Boulangerie OR Kringla??? Something's just wrong with that.

Hahaha it took me forever to figure out that you were saying 'governor' in a British accent. I'm smart. :teacher:

I agree! You gotta soak up all that you can in Disney when you're there. :) HAHAHA frumpsocrates. That's brilliant.

Can't wait for more!

Oh my word that chocolate cake looks amazing!!! Mmmmmm popcorn::

I haven't been brave enough to call the phone booth in UK...maybe one day I will be! :lmao:

Whee! An update! Thanks for making my President's Day a good one! :lmao:

I ordered the creme brulee, much to Kelliroo's approval, I'm sure!

cremebruleefrance.jpg

YUM....did you save any for me? Send it to PA right away! You'll have to try the maple creme brulee in Canada. So good! :) I just love all those wonderful sugary snacks in France. How can you not try something? Dave's choices are pretty good too. Love the chocolate croissant. The cakes looks delicious too. I'm sorry, but a plain croissant? Hm..is Mike okay? LOL. I don't understand how some people just are not into sweets. How is that possible?

Okay...moving on! Love all of the World Showcase pics...makes me feel right at home! Hahaha calling those phone booths can be quite the experience. I've called a couple times and every time it is hilarious. I had one person yelling to their vacation pal that they found a hidden Mickey inside the phone. LOL. Interesting...

Do you have Wegmans by you? The grocery store? Well-in their international aisle guess what they have? Aero bars! Yup-they stood out to me because of seeing them in Disney but I have never tried them. They had bunch of different flavors. I'll have to try one now!

Club Cool..always fun. I haven't had the Beverly since the first time I was there. Maybe I should try it again? IDK. I really like the China watermelon one and the Germany. They're my favs.

Hm..what will you be doing next? Spaceship Earth? Excited for more! :)

What? They don't have Aeros in USA? Then again you poor people don't have smarties either do you?

Mmmmmm, creme brulee! It's been so long since I had one, I think I'm due for one...

I LOVE Aero bars! That and Mirage are my favorite. Taste the bubbles! Oh, and Smarties are so much better than M&M, so I guess Canada rules when it comes to chocolate. popcorn::

Love that you called the UK phone booth and got to talk with a few people. Funny!

I just caught up on your TR and I love it :) Your enthusiasm really makes it so much more enjoyable to read:goodvibes I have to say, the thing that makes me enjoy it most is how you take it all in. You rarely have any criticisms towards the food or experiences that could be taken negatively. Such a great attitude; that really allows Disney vacations to be the best they can be!! Keep it up! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read the rest!

Good work bottomless pit Dave!!
That creme brulee looks sooooooo tasty! I love dessert time at Disney:love:
Haha yay for ghosting the phone box! Totally planning on that next time!
I love aero chocolate! It's just so lovely! Sad you don't get it....
Although you guys get so much great stuff in the US, it's only right that you have to miss out sometimes :lmao:
The fact that you made figment your priority makes me very happy!
That's the way it should be:goodvibes
Oh you wise little frump, breathing in the moment, making it last.
That is one hilarious Beverly face, blur and all.
I love lurking in there and watching people drink it, so great!
You are gettin some amazing shots this trip! Frame worthy for sure :thumbsup2

You don't have Aero in USA?
Do you have Cadbury or Galaxy? Cadbury and Galaxy are nicer than Aero. I need to send you some Irish chocolate!

Mmm, the patisserie. Great choice for second dessert! That creme brulee looks so yummy right now.

Love the Beverly picture. No one has a shot of me drinking Beverly, and with good reason. It would not be a pretty sight.

It really is! Ahh I know I'm so hungry!

Hahaha thanks. :P Mine isn't pretty either, but it's too funny to not share lol.

I love the Aero bars too! Hershey's makes them now, but it's not as fun as getting them at Disney of course.

Me too! I know I would be so huge if I did though haha. It's hard to restrain myself in Disney. :P

Hahaha it was so weird! That was totally not my intention but they just went that way with it.

I LOVE THEM. It's one of those things, though, that I don't want to have that often because then they wouldn't be as special anymore.

Yay for French CM's

CAKE!!!!!!!

I love that place so freaking much.

I'm so glad!

Ahh that's exciting! Don't you just love when you're bored and you just call the phone booths and chat with random people? :P I do. It's a hobby of mine lol.

I'm not a big fan either, but ya really should. It's necessary.

Me toooooo. ): ): I wanna go NOWWWW.

Mmmmm creme brulee!!!! Love your Beverly expression:goodvibes

That's so great! I know I love getting them. Apparently we do have them in the states, which I didn't know, but I'd rather just get them in Disney or Canada. That way it's more special. (:

Me too!!!

Thanks! Haha I know I was so frumpy. It was so bitter!

Thank you!

That's kind of NOT OKAY. You must make haste in trying both places ASAP!!!!!

Hahaha it's okay I probably wouldn't have figured it out either. :P

I'm sorry but no I didn't. ): PA's not far away from me though! I LOVE THAT CREME BRULEE!!! My mom got it when we went to Le Cellier in August and I thought it was just fabulous! All the snacks are delicious though, I agree. Haha Mike is just not huge on sweets. I know, it's weird. If we didn't look so similar, I would swear we weren't related haha.

Ah yes the China one! I've had that one! It's SO good!

You'll have to wait and see! (:

What? They don't have Aeros in USA? Then again you poor people don't have smarties either do you?

Chapter 39- "So It DOES Exist!"

July 29th, 2011

Before we left Epcot, Mike wanted to check out the Art of Disney store!

dsc02915ou.jpg

There was a lot of unique artwork in there that we hadn't seen at the Animation Building.

The beautiful Castle:
dsc02917c.jpg

Winnie the Pooh:
dsc02920z.jpg

That one was probably my favorite of the whole trip, because it reminded Mike and I of growing up. Our uncle's house had woods in the backyard, so whenever we went over there we would go "exploring" with our cousins, and one day we went in so deep that we found a brook and a bridge connecting it to some fields on the other side. We used to play Pooh Sticks on that bridge (the game where you drop sticks on one side and watch them go to the other) and we called it Pooh Bridge. We literally thought that we were in the Hundred Acre Wood. It was just such a magical place for all of us and I'll never forget how much fun we had there. Those are some of my favorite memories from when I was little, and seeing that picture just brought all of them back for me. (:

Here's another of the Hundred Acre gang:
dsc02925v.jpg

"Call in the spirits, wherever they're at!"
dsc02921ml.jpg

We looked around for a while, and then headed out of Epcot.

On our way out, a CM pulled Dave aside and asked if he would take a survey about his "park experience" that day. She took us to this semi-sketchy back area and used this computer thing to ask him like 284397198 questions, all of which he answered positively.

This is a snipe I took of her in the sketchy area:
dsc02930j.jpg

It was really weird, and it kinda held us up, but whatever. They have to get input so they can improve! Walt would approve, so I do too. (:

After that was done we took the MONORAIL (<33333) to the TTC so we could head over to the Shades of Green resort.

Why are we going there, you might ask?

Oh no reason, really.

Just to get some tickets.

FOR THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER!!!!

Which will be tomorrow in this trip report.

YOU MAY ALL BEGIN TO FREAK OUT...

NOW.

Unless you're like Jess, and don't care about Harry Potter, which is fine. However, I do ask that you continue to read along and respect my devotion to both Disney and the Guy with the Lightning Scar. (:

Thank you.

Moving on...

When we got to the TTC, we only had to wait a couple minutes for a bus to SoG.

I couldn't remember if I'd ever been there, but according to Dave we'd stayed there for a few days when he was living in Florida.

Oh, okay!

There were a lot of waterfalls and greenery when I first walked in, which I loved, and the lobby was really pretty too!

Here it is:
dsc02932f.jpg

Nice, right?

Dave went to the little Ticket-Selling Center to get our WWoHP tickets, and Mike and I walked around.

And that's when I saw it.

Something I thought I'd never see on Disney property:
dsc02934i.jpg

I KNOW RIGHT!?

Blew my mind.

I was so excited that the camera was shaking when I took the picture.

Shoulda had Mike take it.

He hates coffee.

Anyways...

So of course I helped myself to some. (:

It was delicious.

Ahh Starbucks.<33

Made my day, really.

Then we went back over to find Dave.

dsc02935xo.jpg

I didn't realize that we were at the AAA headquarters...seriously. What up with all the brochures?! This place obviously doesn't realize that by doing all this advertising, they are losing money on lazy people ordering room service.

Tsk, tsk.

Once Dave had the tickets, we picked up a map of Islands of Adventure from the Brochure Mall and then hopped on a bus to DTD, where we then grabbed a bus back to POFQ.

All of this took way less time than we expected, and I even helped out a family that was wondering how to get to POR for their reservation at Boatwright's.

Yay DISness!

And since I know you're all curious, this is what the Shades of Green buses look like:
dsc02938in.jpg

Not as nice as the Disney ones, but they do the trick.

Once we were back at POFQ, we stopped at the room to charge our phones and freshen up, and then we headed down to Sassagoula Floatworks for dinner.

Mike ordered this huge meal with ribs, a Vitamin water, and the whole nine yards, which I must admit I helped with a little:
dsc02939cn.jpg

dsc02944d.jpg

It was fantastic! Definitely some of the best quick-service food I've had.

Dave got a burger, macaroni salad, and a Vitamin water as well:
dsc02941le.jpg

dsc02943s.jpg

I was not as hungry as them, so I got a salad with shrimp and a water:
dsc02946g.jpg

dsc02945ot.jpg

This was nice and light, which was just what I wanted!

For dessert, Mike was boring and got a chocolate chip cookie, which I don't have a pic of.

Dave got this double chocolate brownie thing (as if he hadn't had enough dessert that day) and it was AMAZING. I had a bite, it was so chocolatey and delicious, oh my gosh. I'm drooling just thinking about it. I mean, just LOOK at it:
dsc02942j.jpg

YUM!

Of course, I, being a DISer and totally in tune with what's hot, chose this route:
dsc02948ip.jpg

Mmmmm the beignets. Where to being? They were light and airy, COVERED in delicious powdered sugar, and totally fresh. Seriously, the CM made them right in front of me. It was awesome.

After dinner, we headed to the Magic Kingdom for a very special event, another meet-up, and some Extra Magic Hours on a bus that we had all to ourselves!!

I seriously can't wait to hear how much you loved the WWoHP! :thumbsup2 I want to go there so badly on our trip in December.

Shades of Green is pretty :) And they have Starbucks coffee? YUMMM!

And Beignets..... My mama is from New Orleans and they are seriously the best things EVER!

The CM asking you guys to take the survey must have been an interesting experience. I haven't ever been asked to do one of the surveys but if I had I probably would feel the same way you did with just wanting to get on with my day.

Love all of those art of disney pics :) I love the one with the castle especially! Cute story about your own personal hundred acres woods! I love having experiences like that. It really is the simple things in life that bring the best memories.

Yay Monorail! I have grown very fond of that form of transportation over the years. It isn't everyday that you can just board a monorail to get where you need 2 go.

Ooh that must have been fun 2 check out shades of green. That is the one resort on property that i know nothing about. It has always fascinated me though. Loved seeing your pictures :) I'm sure that one reason that they advertise for a lot of stuff that would take people away from disney is that it is more like swan and dolphin in that it is on disney property and you can get some of the benefits of staying on property but it isn't like staying at a disney owned and operated hotel.

yay harry potter land! As I am sure I have mentioned before in my comments on this TR and other TR's i am OBSESSED with Harry Potter! I love it almost as much as I love disney! As a harry potter fan I completely understand how essential it is to go 2 harry potter land if you are anywhere near it. The past two disney trips I have been on my mom and i have taken a day just for IOA and the WWOHP! I can't wait 2 hear what you think of it! My personal opinon of universal in general is that it is like a really cool version of the six flags parks (The great america branch isn't super far away from where I live) but it doesn't hold a candle 2 disney. however, I do love the WWOHP section! It is so amazingly realistic and I just love all the attractions and the theming of it. I personally also found that after i had been there once the overall experience of being a universal tourist improved drasticly.

Your dinner looks like it was great! I find it amusing just how much food guys can really eat. Your brother sounds a lot like my brother with how much food he ate at that meal!

Can't wait to hear more :)
