Welcome Aboard Disney's Magical Express!

July 25th, 2011

Hey readers! Only 3 days until my next trip!!! Jess and I watched Hercules and Aladdin last night with Vickie, Allie, and a bunch of our friends, and that really got me in the spirit! I'm gonna try to get in another update after this one, so you all won't be without reading material while I'm gone! So, without further ado:

Once we were in the air, I took the liberty of showing the itinerary I had made up to Mike. Once I was done, he gave me this look like "Are you serious? I'm already tired." SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP!!!

Then he decided he better get a nap in while he could, and while he was sleeping I listened to some of my favorite Disney music on my iPod, started reading A Raisin in the Sun, and took this picture:

When Mike woke up, we ate the 3 complimentary peanuts and had waters, which I didn't really think were worth my camera's time. Haha.

He started to doze off again and I just looked out the window and listened to my music. He informed me at one point that I had been singing "It's a Small World" OUT LOUD. How embarrassing. I sometimes sing absentmindedly. Oops.

A few minutes later, we were informed that we were starting our descent!!! And pretty soon...

PALM TREES!!!! And that means that we had arrived!!!!!

We got off the plane at about 3:45 and were informed that it was sunny and 92 degrees. YAY. We got on this baby:

which I like to call the Fake Monorail.

See? He's on the phone with Katie. <3 Meanwhile, I took this pic of the Trees of Heaven:

We got to baggage claim and got our luggage pretty quickly. While we waited I called my mom to tell her we landed...and Mike called Katie...again. They're in loooveee. <3 <3 Tehehe.

I love this airport. It feels like home.

We then headed to the Disney's Magical Express section of the airport, which took a lot of thinking. For those of you who get confused, like me, it's in Terminal B, floor 1, go left out of the elevators. P.S. Terminal B is the green one on the MCO map.

WE MADE IT!! YAY!!!!

We waited over by the side and met up with Dave after a few minutes, because his flight got in a little later than us. Then we got in line, a.k.a showed a few CM's our DME booklet and walked straight outside to the bus. But not without taking a pic of this lovely sign:

We walked outside and to my absolute delight we saw our transportation:

A CRUISE BUS!!! YAYY! I have ALWAYS wanted to have one of these buses, I love them. I freakeddd out. Seriously, I had a mini conniption. The other passengers probably wanted to chip in for a tranquilizer.

Anyway, we boarded my heavenly chariot and took our seats.

I love these seats. I want them in my house.

Our bus driver was David Morales, and he was very nice and friendly. He showed us the movie after about 10 minutes, maybe less, and it was precious and a half as always. I love it. I wish they sold it on DVD. I would buy it.

Okay, this next pic reminds me of Dave from the 2005 Disney World vacation planning DVD. If any of you read Jess' "Bathrobe Princess" trip report from when we went in January, then you know that I took a picture with a shirt that says "You gots to chill" and that reminded us of Dave as well. LOVE him. He's really lazy and likes to scope out the park benches. Apparently, so does Goofy.

The movie finished, and some advertisements for DVC and ABD came on. And this is when ya'al get mad at me. There we were, going under the gates to Heaven, one of the most photographed arches in world, and frumpy little me has a full-on conniption. I like jumped out of my seat, starting squealing, and was basically acting like Boo when she sees "Kitty" in Monster's Inc. I know what you're thinking; that's not so bad, right? Well, it is. You see, when I was having my little party, I FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE of the aforementioned arch. Wahh. I really hope I don't lose readers because of this. Please, I beg you, forgive me. To make up for it, I took a picture of the first Disney highway sign I saw:

I know it's not much, but I love all the signs.

We stopped at Old Key West first, which I had never officially been to before, at least that I can remember. It is GORGEOUS. I see why Jess and her family like it so much. SO pretty. Here's a couple pics for Jess and Mother and all you other OKW fans:

The next stop was Saratoga Springs, another I had never officially been to. I think this one is equally gorgeous, but it might have a little bit of an edge for me because I have always loved the colors and theming a LOT. Maybe it's because I'm from upstate New York, I'm not sure. It's just beautiful.

The stop after SSR was French Quarter!!! We drove through an extremely picturesque intersection, and it was then that I decided that I would like to live on streets with these names:

How I would love to say I live on Disney Vacation Club Way.

Pretty soon we were home!

Time to check-in and do one of my favorite things at Disney World!!!

As we all know, the Magical Express bus ride is my FAVORITE part of every trip. I love the seats, the driver, the movie... it's all a wonderful experience.
I love that video as well. And the goofy and dave comparison = So true.

Exciting that you will be back in disney soon! Your brother's reaction to the intineray was funny! My brothers would probably react the same way. Yay for the disney Cruise line bus as well! I totally remember dave from the 2005 video, He was very amusing! Love the story about you being so excited to see the magical gateway arch I totally understand how you would have forgotten to take a picture of it though. One time when my family was staying at pop (our current resort of choice) our room overlooked the magical gateway which was both happy and sad for obvious reasons.

You're tellin' me! I want to go back with them both so badly!!! I will be seeing Vickie on my trip in a few days though. Our families are going at the same time. So that's at least one of the princesses. But the other princess should be there too. Hopefully some day we can all go back together! I would love that!

That's awesome that you could see the gate! But it reminds you that you have to leave. And that's no fun. But it's a very pretty sight! I've never stayed at Pop but I love the theme and I've heard great things about it! Maybe someday I'll stay there. ​

Alright, so I just wrote a wicked awesome reply to this update, I mean seriously, it was amazing and know what? I accidentally move out of the page and now it's all GONE! Well... on to the new one... (And Jess still beat me either way grrr...)

Oooo... great choices for a movie night. Hercules is one of my favorites. I'm pretty sure I have a lot of songs from that movie on my iPod and I sang Go The Distance for a chorus (random thought) That reminds me, I need to buy more Disney music LOL And I'm guessing there are two TRs coming this way...

LOL @ your brother on the plane. What is he doing? Sleeping on a plane ride to Disney. That's humanly impossible for me. I'm way too excited and that's how it should be, no sleeping in any place that has a relation to Disney.

I can never find Magical Express ever. I'm so glad on this last trip, people were there to direct me, but I can't even remember where it is. I'm a failure of a DISer But LOL @ your little ME conniption! I can only imagine how entertaining that was hahaha And I totally agree about the movie, they should totally sell it, I would buy fifty just because I can LOL And I really am wanting that "Dave" shirt you are talking about. When I first saw it on Jess's TR, I thought "I WANT THAT!" and ever since then I've seen it everywhere. It is taunting me GRRRR... Speaking of clothing and all that stuff, to the Mickey Earrings!

I think I've done something very similar to your little frumpisode on the DME going under the gates. I'm pretty sure a year ago, when I went under those, I went ballistic, I couldn't find anything to take a picture with and by the time I had my camera out I couldn't get a decent picture and it was insanity. I was nudging my mom then bugging my sister... it's just crazy, so I totally understand and won't leave this TR I think your Frumpiness suffices... and maybe a Mickey Bar would be nice Hehehe

I just love the street names at Disney. If only there were actual places you could live in at Disney, so you would have to be go to the parks at least once a day. I call living on 1 Magic Kingdom somethingorother And YAY for arriving at POFQ!

Yay for finally getting to Disney! I love those DCL buses! They're just so cool looking, I feel like they should be able to just float right onto the water like chitty chitty bang bang

Haha I'm sorry, that's happened to me before and it's really annoying. But YEAH SHE DID!!

Good guess, there ARE two TR's headed your way, but yeah I'm like newly obsessed with Hercules now, I only have like 3 of the songs though, I need to get the rest. I hadn't seen that movie in like 8 years, so I forgot how good it was.

Yeah, seriously. But he knows my rule: There is NO sleeping in Disney!

Thanks! I love my Mickey earrings. I have 3 pairs but I actually lost one so now I'm down to two. :/ wahh. Oh well. Maybe I'll get more on this trip, we'll see. But yeah you should definitely get that shirt! I finally have ME's location like down to a science, so I feel much better and more confident in my DISer self. But yeah I would probably just buy one...but I'd still buy it lol.

Hahaha I literally beg my mom at LEAST once a day for DVC, I want it so bad. Like more than anything. That and an annual pass. But yeah OKW is gorgeuos and a half. But the sun wasn't really setting in that pic with the water...I just tweaked it a little. Hehe.

I know really. The street names are great. It's just like all those little things that add to the magic.

No problem! Haha. I LOVE this resort it is so beautiful. It doesn't even feel like a moderate to me. It has everything you could ever need. Thanks! I love taking pics while I'm on planes. Whenever I fly out to California or something I always take pics going over the Rocky Mtns., and those are always really cool. LOL yeah they were delish! ​

So do I! They're so cute. I love how the windows are like portholes. And I LOVE Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Such a cute movie. My sister and I used to watch it almost every day haha.

The welcome movie just sets up the whole trip for happiness. It's so funny and completely precious. ​

Okay I'm all caught up and I am loving it so far! I had to take notes on the comments I wanted to make so I could remember them all!

First off, I have to switch to nerdy English teacher mode and make two comments. First, I love the alliteration in your introduction! I am a nut about alliteration and I use it as much as I possibly can. Second, I wanted to ask if you are enjoying A Raisin in the Sun? I've always really liked that play, and I love the Langston Hughes poem that the title came from. It's called "A Dream Deferred" and it's SO good (if you haven't already read it)!

Okay, out of nerd mode. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your nails! I would never have the patience to do that, so I'm very jealous! Great job!

I love your park bag too. Vera Bradley is just so cute and cheerful!

What a great countdown chain! All of the quotes are so much fun. My favorite was the quote from Rock'n Roller Coaster, because that's my favorite ride! Make it a super stretch!

Oh my goodness, Ginger is the cutest thing ever! Look at that sad little face! It looks like she wasn't too happy about you leaving!

Ahh, the Orlando airport. It's so funny because I think that airports are pretty much the most miserable places on Earth (aside from the DMV) but the Orlando airport is so bright and cheerful and lovely!

WOO HOO for getting to ride the cruise bus! I totally understand your meltdown! That is very exciting! I was cracking up at your comment about the tranquilizer!

Don't worry, it is totally understandable that you didn't get a picture of THE sign! Happy dancing and freaking out is a perfect excuse to let it slip your mind!

I can't believe you're going back to Disney in just a few days! I'm so happy for you (but also super jealous)! I hope you have a great time! I know you will!
