Love the Art of Animation. I wish I was a millionaire. I would definitely have a lot of those paintings. They are incredible. I have a Thomas Kinkade Disney calendar on my wall. I consider that my fancy artwork haha. But seriously, all the painting just wow me. I cannot understand how people are that talented to paint like that. I'm always in awe. Just amazing. Cute story about your hundred acre woods. Loved that, so sweet.

AHH!!! HARRY POTTER WORLD!!! Lucky lucky. I still have not been there yet! That was my childhood haha. I think I was in upper elementary school when the first book came out. I don't really know what it is. I've heard about it but am confused!

I KNOW!!! I LOVED it! I started reading the books when I was 8 or 9 so it basically was my childhood too! I'm so excited to share the experience with ya'al on the DIS! I am on Pottermore actually! Ahh, tour groups! They can be quite scary sometimes. I don't mind them at times, but I hate when they chant. They take away from the music around you.

I love that purse! I really wanted to get it last summer but it was too expensive. I have the wristlet of the sketches. If I did get the bigger one I'd get it at the World of Disney because you get a discount with your AP! Oh ya, that castle replica. We have one in our family room.....haha. I wish! Cannot imagine spending that much money on it! Wow! I wonder if anyone has one??

Your firework pictures turned out great! I have never done the Wishes Dessert Party. It looks delicious! That's great that your friends were there at the same time! So fun to be able to hang out with them there! Sounds like you had a blast!

My DH and I love Harry Potter! When we went to Disney for our engagement celebration we spent 2 days at Universal visiting Harry and exploring everything else. We loved the WWoHP and the butter beer was fantastic! Can't wait to read all about your experience!

HELLO Kristen! Sorry I haven't commented in awhile, school and all. It stinks... But I needed a Disney fix since today is first, #OneMoreDisneyDay (emphasis on the Hashtag) and I think EVERYONE knows what that means, I had a major wipeout snowboarding earlier and this marks the day where it has been one day over a year since I was last in Disney. I need a trip SOON and DE-SPE-RATE-LY... okay, enough of my clearly depressing life, to your TR. Of course, you know how much I love it and I think you need to seriously refrain from posting any pictures related to Wishes, Desserts or Party since it causes a very jealous reaction and hankering-for-Disney-food reaction, which together isn't good. Hopefully someday I will be able to try that party out And Shades of Green looks really cool, too bad it's only open to vets, but I think that's nice Disney has a place like that set aside for them Well, can't wait to read more!

Ok so we got stopped at Universal Studios as soon as we went in the gates last trip and they asked us a bunch of survey questions for about 10 mins and then when we were done we got a complimentary front of the line passes!!! We were so happy and a couple of days later at Disney we got asked to take a survey as we were leaving (i guess we look like average joes who would make good survey subjects?) and it went for what seemed like forever...and then the lady just thanked us and we were shown out of the little room.... So gutted because we were expecting fast passes or free stuff haha
Yay Starbucks! May need to take a detour there next trip. Not going to lie, huge sucker for Starbucks. Ever since they took pretty much all of them out of Australia (why??) the obsession has gotten worse.
Those silly tour groups! We flew over to Disneyland in a tour when I was younger for my dancing school and we did not chant, block large areas or act as a public nuisance. We also only hung out in groups of 2-4. No area blockage, haha that is how all tours should be done!

Ohh, I love One Man's Dream. Except for the creepy Donald, which I can't get over. I love Disney history, but the early characters at the parks freak me out.

Mike's Piglet was awesome! What a rock star!

Ugh tour groups. Why? WHY??? Do they all have to go to the same park on the same day? I don't know why I feel such a deep hatred for them, but they really make my blood boil. I think all of us DISers need to plan an anti-tour group vacation. We'll all go at the same time, make t-shirts, and get in their way. Sound like a plan?

You're right, characters now are much more whimsical. It helps a lot that they have cartoon sized hands. When they had normal human hands with gloves on they were super creepy.

I agree, the Warner Brothers logo in the movies is pretty cool! When it comes on and that music plays...you know it's about to get real. And by real I mean...real nerdy! AWWW YEAH!

YESSS we are going to be at the Beach Club from July 8-15, so it looks like our trips will overlap a little!! We are going to be staying awhile on the 15th too, though, and if I can work my magic I might convince John to stay until the 16th. Either way, we should definitely meet up! Chapter 41- The Update That Was Supposed to be Beautiful​

July 30th, 2011​

Hi everyone! So this was supposed to be a beautiful update of the beginning of our day at WWoHP. However, Jess' laptop logged me out when I went to post the update that took me AN HOUR to do, so basically it's gone. And I REALLY don't feel like writing it over again. It was basically about how Mike and I grew up on Harry Potter and we basically died of happiness when we got there. And they played my favorite instrumental music when we walked in and we saw tons of movie stuff in the store windows, including Hermione's Yule Ball dress which I am obsessed with. Also, Moaning Myrtle actually cries and screams in the girl's "loo" which was AWESOME. That's pretty much all I talked about so far, so I'll post the update pictures too and the next part of the update will be a real one, I promise. Thanks so much for understanding. I love you all.

Hey everyone! Sorry again about that update fail, but I have some very exciting news to share with you all in case you haven't heard from Jess already...

We're Going to Disney World!!!!!!!!!

That's right! Jess and I (along with Dave, Mike and Katie) are going to Disney World from May 11th-16th!!!!!!

We will be staying at Saratoga Springs in a 2-bedroom villa!!! I am SO EXCITED!!!!!

Jess and I made our ADR's last night, and we got some great ones!

Only 56 days!!!!!!!!!

Also, for those of you with Instagram/Twitter accounts, you may want to stay updated on the Frumpy adventures that we will have in Disney WHILE WE'RE ACTUALLY THERE. I grew up on Harry Potter too. Last summer was like the ultimate HP summer. My friends and I went to see DH pt 2 like 10 times, all dressed up in our finest House outfits of course... and the HP exhibit in Times Square, and to see Dan and Alan Rickman on Broadway...and cried the ENTIRE TIME hahahaha. I'm so sad about it still. I mean, having the movies softened the blow of there being no more books but now there is nothing! I can't wait to go to WWoHP though, at least we have that. And I can't wait until they expand it too. Ahh I'm rambling but I'm obsessed (if I haven't made that clear haha). I can't wait to read more about your experience there. A lot of HP fans tell me that it was cool but not that great except for Forbidden Journey, which everyone raves about. I can't wait to go on that ride!!!

Oh my goodness sake girl, there is nothing worse than typing your entire update and then losing it! That sucks. I've had that happen before. I actually now keep a word document open, and after I have everything put in, pictures and all, I copy and paste it into word right before posting. That way, if I lose it, I haven't actually lost it at that point. I've had that happen before.

So happy you're going to WDW so soon. Absolutely jealous. Even though you weren't able to write about it, I'm glad that you liked WWoHP. It really is a unique and awesome experience.

Sorry about all your update drama. I enjoyed the pictures though, even like like I said, I don't know anything about Harry Potter! I'm glad yall had such a nice morning complete with FRUIT.

Hey Kristen!! I missed a couple of updates but here I am now.

The Art of Disney store is so amazing. If I ever hit the lottery I am going straight there. I want a house of Disney art!

Ahh, I can't wait to try the beignets at POFQ. I think we are staying at Port Orleans on our next trip so hopefully I will finally get to do that!

YUM!! Those desserts! I kinda wanna book the party IDK If I would like watching Wishes from over there though. I like to be directly in front of the castle. It's interesting to see a different perspective though.

Aww, too bad your update got deleted. That's happened to me before which is why I always write mine in WordPad first and save as I go along now.

I grew up on Harry Potter too. Last summer was like the ultimate HP summer. My friends and I went to see DH pt 2 like 10 times, all dressed up in our finest House outfits of course... and the HP exhibit in Times Square, and to see Dan and Alan Rickman on Broadway...and cried the ENTIRE TIME hahahaha. I'm so sad about it still. I mean, having the movies softened the blow of there being no more books but now there is nothing! I can't wait to go to WWoHP though, at least we have that. And I can't wait until they expand it too. Ahh I'm rambling but I'm obsessed (if I haven't made that clear haha). I can't wait to read more about your experience there. A lot of HP fans tell me that it was cool but not that great except for Forbidden Journey, which everyone raves about. I can't wait to go on that ride!!!

AHHHHHH YOUR TRIP IS SO SOON! I AM SO JEALOUS! I want to go so bad. You guys are going to have the best time!! I am excited for another frump report full of deer face pictures... I know you will not let me down.

Oh no! I'm sorry your update got deleted! I HATE when that happens, especially when it's one that you've put a ton of work into. Your pictures are awesome, though! I can totally relate to you and your brother growing up on Harry Potter! The first book came out when I was eleven, so I was literally like Harry's age! I love those books so much, and going to the WWoHP for the first time is definitely like entering a dream world from our childhoods!

Oh my goodness sake girl, there is nothing worse than typing your entire update and then losing it! That sucks. I've had that happen before. I actually now keep a word document open, and after I have everything put in, pictures and all, I copy and paste it into word right before posting. That way, if I lose it, I haven't actually lost it at that point. I've had that happen before.

So happy you're going to WDW so soon. Absolutely jealous. Even though you weren't able to write about it, I'm glad that you liked WWoHP. It really is a unique and awesome experience.

Chapter 42- And So the British Accent Kicks In...​

July 30th, 2011​

I really couldn't have thought of a better name for this update because it was just SO TRUE. Seriously, I think Mike was getting annoyed. I was just so enthralled with being in this world of Harry Potter that I had to make myself truly fit right in! But before I blab on more about that, I have gotten a few requests to hear more about Disney plans for May, so here goes!

Jess and I made our ADR's last weekend, and here is the lineup:
- Crystal Palace (breakfast)
- Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch)
- Le Cellier (lunch)
- Chef Mickey's (dinner)
- Teppan Edo (dinner)
- 50's Prime Time (lunch)
- Cape May Cafe (dinner)
- T-REX Cafe (lunch)

So that's the plan for now! Things may change here and there, but this is the plan we'd like to go with!

Also, our flights and resort are totally booked! Wooo! I put in a request for Congress Park at SSR, because of the DTD views and proximity. I can't wait to stay there!

Katie came over yesterday and Mike and I watched the planning DVD with her. She's never been to Disney before and is practically jumping out of her skin with excitement! 48 DAYS!!!!!

Now, onto a whole new world...(please ignore the pun)

So after Mike and I discovered that you could hear Moaning Myrtle in the bathroom, we stumbled across another sweet effect that I was SO excited to see:

That's right! The HAVE YOU SEEN THIS WIZARD poster of Sirius Black! And the thing ACTUALLY MOVES. I know. So awesome. I pretty much died I was so excited. It was just so cool!

We then walked toward Hogwarts a little more and saw some stage-like area with the four house flags around it:

Just as we were wondering what it was used for, a whole show appeared before our eyes!

Since WWoHP began building during the hype of the fourth film, this show featured the lovely ladies of Beauxbatons and the proud sons of Durmstrang! It was just a little representation of all three and a nice nod to such a great film. But we didn't stay for long, as we had our eye on another source of entertainment...

That's right. It's time for the big reveal: the school that all of us have always longed to attend, the place we've all wished to call home....IT'S HOGWARTS!

You may start singing now, of course.

"Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts, teach us something please! Whether we are old and bald or young with scabby knees! Our heads could do with filling, with some interesting stuff, for now they're bare and full of air, dead flies and bits of fluff! So teach us things worth knowing, bring back what we've forgot. Just do your best, we'll do the rest, and learn until our brains all rot!

....

Is it sad that I know that whole thing??

Absolutely not.

Anyway, we headed toward the entrance for Forbidden Journey! First we went to the lockers, which were a bit chaotic but highly advanced and helpful. After that, we got in the stand-by line, which was about 45 minutes.

Let me tell you something though. That wait time just flew by! Seriously, BEST. QUEUE. EVER. I was so enthralled! There are many things, that I didn't get good pics of, such as the all-too-real looking Harry, Hermione, Ron and Dumbledore, the penseive, the Mirror of Erised, and the house point markers. But I did get pics of some things!

The queue starts in the greenhouses, where we saw mandrakes!!!!

Then, YOU GET TO GO IN THE CASTLE.

From there, we found ourselves in the front hall, which was complete with an endless ceiling and thousands of moving portraits on the walls!!

We continued along and found ourselves in a classroom, where the Fab 3 debriefed us on what would be goin' down on the ride. We also saw this bad boy:

MAJOR POINTS IF YOU CAN TELL ME WHAT MOVIE/SCENE HE'S FROM!!!

Further along was the entrance to Dumbledore's Office:

"Sherbert, Lemon!"---"Fizzing Wizbee!"---"Dumbledore!"

All past passwords to the famous headmaster's study.

While we were in there, Dumbledore spoke to us. I also noticed a certain famous artifact on a high shelf.

I would LOVE to have that on a shelf in my room.

Then we found ourselves at the entrance to Gryffindor Tower, where of course we saw...

The Fat Lady! She spoke to us with her usual grace and charm.

Pretty soon, we came upon the ride loading area, which was this etherial room that was pitch black with all of these tiny golden lights everywhere. It was pretty amazing.

We got on the ride, whose vehicle I can best describe as reminding me of Soarin'.

And we were off!

OH. MY. GOSH.

I seriously have never felt more submerged into a movie or a story than I felt on that ride. It was surreal, it was awesome, and it WAY surpassed any of my highest expectations. That's all I say for those readers who haven't ridden before! And for those of you who have, you know what I'm talkin' about!

After trying to accept that the ride wasn't actually real, we got our belongings from our lockers and went out into the beautiful sunshine!

***WARNING: CASTLE ONSLAUGHT ONCE AGAIN.

It's just so freakin' awesome!!!

Now, this was the perfect time to do another thing that I could not wait to do when I came to WWoHP.

What's that, you may ask?

Well...GO SHOPPING, OF COURSE!!!!

We went to Filch's Emporium first, where I bought my very own Gryffindor Scarf!!!!!!! You'll see a pic of it in a later update.

I had been wanting one of these since the first movie, and now I finally owned one! And honestly, it was one of the best purchases I have ever made because I literally wear that thing ALL THE TIME. Barely a day goes by that it's not around my neck at some point!

Then, being that mature, realistic adults that we are, Mike and I decided to buy wands!!!

Yes, we know they're not real. So what? They're awesome! It was so hard to choose between all the cool designs and characters, but ultimately we went with Harry for Mike and Hermione for me. We absolutely LOVE them!!! Again, the pic comes later.

Then, we looked around in the Owl Post and Dervish & Banges. Those stores were so cool and perfectly detailed!

Our next stop is coming up in the next update, but I'll give you a VERY SUBTLE HINT:

I have to say I am beyond jealous you are going back in 48 days. Our Disneymoon seems so ridiculously far away. Is it bad that I talk about our Disneymoon just as much, if not slightly more, than our wedding?!We are just SO excited to be back; especially celebrating. It's been since August! AH.

It also makes it so much more exciting that you're taking a "disney-virign"!! We are doing a quick day trip & taking my parents in June when we are in FL a wedding (I don't really count this as a "disney trip"...) and seriously cannot wait to see their reactions. It will be so much fun for you guys to just see her face light up and be her guide!SO much fun!
