"SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP! It Builds Character and Strength!" A July 2011 TR-COMPLETE 4/5

I am back and following along!

You just made me super excited for our CP reservation next month!

You look gorgeous in the pictures with Piglet!

Yay for Mickey waffles and puffed french toast!

Can't wait to hear more!

LOVED YOUR PAST 2 UPDATES!!!!! I actually just got back from the world myself so I totally understand the missing disney thing! I actually just tried Crystal Palace for the first time this trip and LOVED IT!!!! I enjoyed the 2 different types of Mickey Waffles! I actually really enjoyed there rasberry crumb cake as well! The characters were super cute as well! I loved the friendship day celebration they had where they did a parade around the restaraunt! The whole place was really cute! That looks like another great birthday place as well! I only have been 2 disney to celebrate my brithday once and like you it was a month later since my birthday often times conflicts with end of the year activities and i celebrated it at chef mickey's. Now i have ti remember I want to tell them it is my birthday at crystal palace sometime even if i go 6 months from the real day.

Thanks!! Ah I'm so jealous! I miss it so much. I love Crystal Palace it's just so much fun! Birthdays are definitely the best at character meals, for sure.

Okay, time to catch up!

You know, I've gone through the One Man's Dream exhibit, but I don't think we've ever watched the movie. Or if we have it was a really realllllly long time ago. Like you, our timing is always just off with it. Just another thing to add to my list for our next trip!

And of course Walt is smiling down on the frumps. You know we're his favorite fans.

You definitely should watch the movie! It's so inspirational and I just love it. Walt's the best. He totally loves the Frumps.

OH THAT REMINDS ME! My husband now makes the deer face all the time at home, hahahahaha, particularly if I'm stressed out about something. It's so funny. What would a male frump be?

I was so obsessed with MK&A when I was younger - I loved their cassette tapes. I am the cute one - she's just my sister. Rock on.

Oh tour groups. I think we're only had one trip where we didn't really notice them (fortunately, that was our honeymoon). We always get really annoyed though when we're waiting in line for a character and there's only two of them there, then when they get close another 20 show up. Rude.

---

I think he'd still be a frump. Hahaha that's awesome. Where can I get me a deer-face-making man?? I'd love to know.

HAHAHA ahh yes I love them! That makes me want to watch all their movies lol.

Well if there's any trip to not have tour groups, I would pick my honeymoon too. So that's good! They are the epitome of rude, I agree.

Empty MK is awesome. We've gotten in once before opening because of going on the earliest Keys to the Kingdom tour - the park just feels even more amazing when it seems like you're the only people in there. I'd want to get a job at WDW just to be able to run around in the middle of the night when no one else is there, even if it means I'll sweeping up trash, haha.

---

They really need to wipe off that mirror!

I love Winnie-the-Pooh. He never goes out of style. And neither does puffed french toast, YUM!

---

Sorry for getting so behind! My new computer is all set up though, and our busy time at work is over until May, so there's nothing to keep me away from you!

I've always wanted to be in a completely empty MK in like the middle of the night haha. I think it would be so cool!

They really do! Ew.

AGREED. :thumbsup2

Yay! That's great news! I'm gonna post a couple more updates soon!

Mmm, Crystal Palace carbs! I just had some of those recently myself, and they are the best! That's what I always load up on when I go to a breakfast buffet!

They're the best, aren't they! The Mickey waffles are my absolute FAVE.

Love your pic with Piglet - too cute!!!!

Aw thank you! :goodvibes

Yum Yum Yum! Ahh, gotta go back!! I love their carb filled foods there. The puffed french toast was my favorite!

Great pics with the characters! And, I love the card and confetti! I love taking some of the confetti home with me. I have some pieces still in my park backpack lol.

Agreed! Everything is so delicious!!

Thank you! The card and confetti were such a nice touch! I do the EXACT same thing!! I have some in my park backpack too! LOL.

Love the early morning main street and castle pics.
We went to CP for lunch last trip and it was so much fun. I loved it there!

Thanks! I love them too. (: I love Crystal Palace anytime of the day!

Ooohh that meal made me sooo hungry for Disney food!!!! Eyeore is my favorite! He's so precious!! :goodvibes That card is so adorable!!! I can't wait to hear more!!

Me too!! When I did the update LOL. I love Eeyore. <3 And the card was great!

Ug... I am dying for that puffed french toast now!! Ahhh!! I haven't been to Crystal Palace in so long but I love it there! I love the confetti on the table and the card!!! That is so adorable.

And don't feel bad about spelling my name wrong! So many people do, but they figure it out eventually :thumbsup2 haha

Me TOO! I love that place so very much. (:

Ah okay! I finally figured it out haha. P.S. I'm reading along with your December trip report, but I usually read the updates when I'm on the bus or something, so I don't ever reply. :/ I really should. I just wanted to let you know that I'm there though! :goodvibes

I am back and following along!

Can't wait to hear more!

Welcome back!

Ahh that's so exciting! I wish I were going back soon. :/

Aw thank you!

They are SO delish! :cloud9:

Chapter 36- A Galactic Morning and an Afternoon in Paradise!

July 29th, 2011

After our delicious and super fun breakfast in the Hundred Acre Wood, Mike and I decided that it was time to defeat the evil Emperor Zurg, so we headed to Tomorrowland!

dsc02829o.jpg

dsc02830e.jpg

Hehe. I just had to take a pic of this sign:
dsc02832q.jpg

The line was basically a walk-on!

dsc02833t.jpg

dsc02834z.jpg

dsc02835p.jpg

This time, I BEAT MIKE! He's not as coordinated with Buzz as he is with TSM, and neither am I, but I was good enough to beat him!

Here's our mega cute ride photo:
dsc02836wq.jpg

Uhhhh, yeah...

And now for the main event: my favorite Tomorrowland shot you could ever take: the fake palm trees and TTA!

dsc02837oy.jpg

Aren't they so great? AHH I miss my home. </3

Then we walked over to Space Mountain to see how long the wait was, and it was only 20 minutes! SCORE!

dsc02838n.jpg

Mike and I hopped in line, which ended up being about 10 minutes. I sat in the back and it was so fun! I sang 'I Love to Laugh' the whole time I was on the ride, because I have this rule on Space Mountain that I sing whichever song pops into my head the whole time. No idea why, it's just something I've done ever since I was little. LOL.

Then we reentered the atmosphere and headed back out into Tomorrowland.

dsc02843nu.jpg

This picture is for Jess:

dsc02844rs.jpg

Hehe she thinks this is so funny. :P Gotta love that Frump.

We went in Mickey's Star Traders, where I bought a bracelet for Vickie that said "I <3 Prince Charming" on it. It was totally perfect. Mike bought a necklace for Katie that was silver with a little green Mickey. (her birthstone) Then we had to head back to POFQ because Dave had to call and cancel our little detour to D.C. that we were planning on after Disney, because the Air Force was moving him to Vegas a week early and none of us wanted to sacrifice any WDW time, so we simply cancelled our D.C. trip. We ended up not being able to get a flight directly home, so we went to D.C. for just one night from Orlando, and then flew to our respective homes...but that comes later in the TR...anyways!

On our way out of the Magic Kingdom, I noticed that the Enchanted Grove was getting a facelift.

dsc02851l.jpg

dsc02852cr.jpg

We passed Cosmic Ray's and wound up back on Main Street.

dsc02853p.jpg

WARNING! WARNING! CASTLE ONSLAUGHT AHEAD!

C'mon, ya'al know me.

dsc02854qj.jpg

dsc02855q.jpg

dsc02856i.jpg

dsc02857s.jpg

dsc02858y.jpg

dsc02859e.jpg

dsc02861bd.jpg

Okay, I'm done now I promise. Hehe.

Peace MK, see ya latahhh!!!

dsc02862vk.jpg

dsc02863t.jpg

We got to the bus stop and a bus was waiting! Win! And I love that at Magic Kingdom, POFQ and POR have separate bus stops. It's really nice.

When we got back to the room Mike realized that he had left the bag with Katie's necklace in it on the bus! Great. So we went to the resort bus stop and asked the CM there what he could do. He called the driver and he found the bag and told Mike that he could pick it up at the TTC Lost & Found the next day. He gave him a card for the Lost & Found and told us to have a magical day.

I kid you not.

Now THAT is service people.

From there Mike and I went to the gift shop and browsed around. Dave went to the lounge for a drink and to sort out the flight sitch.

Mike and I decided to take advantage of the afternoon and the heat to go for a swim! We left all electronics in the room and just had a really fun time. It was one of those afternoons that you remember forever and ever, because you just had a good time and not a care in the world. I love that kid.

Then we walked around the whole resort and tried to notice all the little details, like the street signs (Cake Walk, etc.) and the cool fountains. I seriously love that resort so much. It's absolutely stunning. Sorry I don't have any pics!

We went back to room after a couple hours and called Dave. He came up about 10 minutes later and we all got ready to head to Epcot!

Chapter 37- Nine Dragons

July 29th, 2011

Yes. TWO UPDATES. In a ROW.

You're welcome. (:

Enjoy!

So we kinda took our leisure getting ready and even though the bus was waiting for us when we got to the bus stop, we ended up being a bit late for our lunch ADR at Nine Dragons, which is why I have NO pics until lunch. I was frumpin' it to China as fast as my stubby legs would take me!

Fortunately, when we checked into Nine Dragons we were seated almost right away, because they weren't super busy.

Our server was Shaui Jiu from Shanghai and he was very prompt! He came over right away and took our drink order.

Dave got a Diet Coke:
dsc02865f.jpg

I got an iced green blackberry tea:
dsc02866xr.jpg

And Mike got a water.

We ordered our food and I enjoyed the decor while we waited. It's so awesome! Very modern and dark, with cool splashes of color. I love it in there. I hadn't been for a couple years, so it was nice to be back!

dsc02868o.jpg

I want this light fixture SO bad:
dsc02869l.jpg

Then Mike and I practiced writing our Chinese symbols for a few minutes, and before we knew it our food had arrived!

Dave and I both ordered the Honey Sesame Chicken with Asian Slaw and White Rice:
dsc02870q.jpg

We both LOVED this! The chicken was tender and the sauce was DELICIOUS. The rice was...rice haha. It was good, but didn't taste out of the ordinary. The slaw, I thought, was super tasty as well. It was kind of tangy and had great texture. Dave didn't really like his, though, so I ate it! Score!

Mike had the Shrimp Fried Rice:
dsc02871y.jpg

This was like a SALAD bowl of fried rice with all the huge shrimp! It was awesome! I tried some and loved it! The flavor was great, the shrimp were perfectly cooked, and it was just perfect. I definitely recommend wither of these entrees.

For dessert, there was absolutely no question as to what we would all order:
dsc02872kx.jpg

YUM. Strawberry red bean ice cream.

You wanna see it again don't you?

Okay, sure:
dsc02873l.jpg

Ahh it's just so good. Definitely one of my favorite Disney desserts!

We enjoyed our heavenly ice cream and paid for our lunch. Then we headed out into China!

I picked up an Epcot park map, because I totally love the new picture!

dsc02874be.jpg

IT'S THE MONORAIL. Eeeep.

Then I noticed a Hidden Mickey on one of the pillars by the big arch in China:
dsc02876g.jpg

Yay me!

Dave then decided that he wanted a second dessert from the bakery in France, and I figured "Hey, why not?" and we headed that way. (:

Japan:

Up next: Dessert Take Two!

Nine Dragons:
- Food: 5/5: Everything we ate was delicious and packed with flavor!
- Service: 5/5: Shaui Jiu was extremely prompt and even complimented our mediocre Chinese symbols!
- Atmosphere: 5/5: Modern and super cool! Also, not too busy so we enjoyed a peaceful lunch.

1st visit? Nope!
Will return? YES!

Haha thanks!

I know they really do! Disney does a great job with making construction look good.

It was super fun. :)

I loved those glasses too! I want them at my house haha. And the light fixture too, of course!

You should DEFINITELY try the ice cream. It's fantastic. You can get it at the China CS, Lotus Blossom Cafe, or at the Joy of Tea stand.

Love all your castle pics

Thank you! :)

Sooo this is a funny story. I was looking at Instagram (I'm dmags), saw you liked my photo, looked at your profile and realized that I recognized you from the DIS! I have read through your TR (and Jess' TRs) and figured now is a good time to comment and let you know that I've been reading along. Also, is it weird I feel like I know you guys just because of your TRs?

Anyway, I have a ton of catching up to do since I'm literally flying home as we speak from an 11 day Disney World trip, but I just wanted to say hi! :goodvibes

LOL the noodle station.

hahaha that ride photo is actually really precious.

The Merchant of VENUS. Hahaha AP English nerd :thumbsup2 So clever.

MICKEY'S STAR TRADERS...

Holy crap that is like the easiest lost and found situation I have ever heard of! Mike is really lucky!

Yay for two updates :goodvibes

My Mom always admires all of the light fixtures in the restaurants. Her favorites are the ones in Sanaa and La Hacienda.

Nine Dragon has the best shrimp ever.

MY FAVORITE ICE CREAM

Haha this is such a cute story. I just followed you on instagram! My name is PrincessJess508 :)

Haha it was so funny. I was like, "I recognize that girl!" I followed you back as well. :goodvibes I love seeing my feed full of Disney-related photos! I can't wait to post more when I get home.

Speaking of getting home and going through stuff, I bought that monorail t-shirt because every time we got on the monorail, that manly voice telling me to please stand clear of the doors in Spanish made me laugh. Matt and I kept saying it over and over again to one another. It made me think of you and your love for it.

I always get so excited when you update haha because it's oh so rare. ;)
Looks like a BEAUTIFUL day! Your castle pictures are awesome... oh my gosh. What am I doing at my house.

Hahaha I love your Space Mountain rule! That's perfect.
I love the effort Disney puts into their construction. At least they attempt to make it look nice. OH and I guess you probably know, but the Enchanted Grove is now the Cheshire Cafe! Adorable.
WELL DANG! ANOTHER UPDATE!
Omg yum. Nine Dragons looks GOOD. Chinese food .
GOOD FIND with the hidden Mickey! That's awesome.
AHHHH your World Showcase pics are awesome. Again I say, why am I in Virginia? UGH.
Excited for your next update... whenever that will be! :thumbsup2 hahaha.

Hahaha, I love your ride photo on Buzz Lightyear!

Glad that you enjoyed your meal at Nine Dragons. Let me tell you, it's your TR and Jess' TRs that have encouraged me to try to strawberry red bean ice cream. I've never tried it before, but I'm going to have to. ;)

Dessert part two. Always the best part.

Woah double updates! You go with your bad self Kristen!
Oh Buzz! Whatta guy...and whatta ride!
Adorable ride photo haha!
Oh What a great idea! I want to sing on Space Mountain! And what a practically perfect song choice haha.
Disney construction is so pretty. I think they should make a law that everywhere they do construction they should have to put up pretty canvas cover ups of what its going to look like! Might have to pitch the idea to the construction going on up my street.
For some reason I read that as "cattle onslaught"
Hilarious!
Might have had too much sun today...
Oh wow. What a happy ending with the necklace.
Disney...you will always have my heart. Because of reasons like that...
Oh and because you are so attractive... and charming...:goodvibes

2 updates; yay! :)

I'm better at TSM than Buzz too. I don't know what it is about Buzz but my accuracy is awful. :confused3 Plus my thumb hurts by the end of it from hitting that darn button so many times!!

Your afternoon sounds wonderful. Gotta love some quality down time with the sibling! Reminds me of the fun times I had with my older sister at Disney. So many memories. :)

Never ate at Nine Dragons before. Not a big Chinese food fan. I don't really like the sweet and sour sauce. The dessert looks good though.

Hm..dessert number 2 in France. Let's think...I'd go with the napoleon. Yum! Or a creme brulee.

Whoa, Enchanted Grove looks so weird! I've never seen a scrim that was just trees like that before.

I love those times at Disney like you guys had at the pool when you just kick back, have fun, and don't worry about anything! It's such a nice break from running around the parks. :cloud9:

How was that iced blackberry tea? It sounds and looks yummy! I love all the different teas and lemonades they have at Disney. The Pomegranate Iced Tea at Ohana is DELICIOUS!!

Nine Dragons looks so good... especially that ice cream! I never thought of eating there b/c we can get such good chinese at home, but now I may have to consider it!

Love your trip report! And your camera, it takes great pictures. I"m sure someone already asked, but what kind is it? :)

I travelled on over from Jess trip report. You look like you guys had such a good time. I have heard some negative reviews of CP lately and decided to skip it in favor of Ohana for our July trip since we haven't done it yet. Now I'm beginning to second guess it!

It's a frumpy place. :P And thanks haha we were just like 'Oh shoot the picture...uhh..pose!" LOL.

I know he really was! It was so great. I was praising the cast members for the rest of the day haha.

More are coming soon!

I've never seen the ones in La Hacienda in person, but I LOVE the ones in Sanaa. Shar has good taste. :thumbsup2

Agreed. LOL yesss your fave. SO DELICIOUS.

I love seeing my feed full of Disney-related photos! I can't wait to post more when I get home.

POOH BEAR!!!!!!
You absolutely made my day with the Crystal Palace pictures - my favorite character breakfast, for obvious reasons.

HAHAHAHA those gifs are hilarious. LOL. I'm dying. I'm so glad I made your day! I can tell...hahaha.

Aren't there rules against vandalism in Disney World? You really shouldn't lay siege to the castle.............Oh, you mean you took a lot of pictures.:rotfl:

Nine Dragons looks positively delectable. And nice catch on the Chinese Hidden Mickey, I've never seen that one before.

Second dessert, you say?....I approve.

Yeah that's what I meant...I guess I should have been more specific haha.

It WAS. And thank you! I was really excited about it! I love finding random ones!

Oh, well thank you. I'm glad you approve, otherwise I would have been reluctant to post the next update.

Woah double updates! You go with your bad self Kristen!

I thought so too. :P
Agreed. Disney puts all other construction projects to shame.
HAHAHA maybe I misspelled it..?
Possibly...BAHAH.
It was so great!
Hahaha Disney. <3

Same. I'll get better..eventually. A reason to go back I guess!

It was! I know ya really do. :P

It was! I love Chinese food so it was perfect for me. (:

You'll have to wait and see...;)

Whoa, Enchanted Grove looks so weird! I've never seen a scrim that was just trees like that before.

Me too! It so is. <3

It was REALLY good! I loved it! I love the pomegranite one! :thumbsup2 I'm a big tea fan. You should go to the afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian! Some great teas there.

It was great! You might have to! Disney food is always worth trying. (:

Love your trip report! And your camera, it takes great pictures. I"m sure someone already asked, but what kind is it? :)

Thanks so much! It's actually just a Sony CyberShot point and shoot. It's nothing fancy, but it does the job!

I travelled on over from Jess trip report. You look like you guys had such a good time. I have heard some negative reviews of CP lately and decided to skip it in favor of Ohana for our July trip since we haven't done it yet. Now I'm beginning to second guess it!

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! Any time at Disney is a good time. (: I've been to Ohana's character breakfast as well as CP, and I can honestly tell you that they are both great! I wouldn't second guess your decision, Ohana is awesome! :thumbsup2
