"SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP! It Builds Character and Strength!" A July 2011 TR-COMPLETE 4/5

The empty park looks very inviting! I still plan to do that sometime. I didn't do any breakfasts on my most recent trip. What was I thinking. Also, I am really wanting some of that grapefruit cake from the Derby! All of the food looks great but that cake keep cropping up in my happy daydreamy thoughts.
By the way, I am glad to hear that you no longer wish to sell your brother. But, I do think that shirt is very cute.

Great empty Magic Kingdom pics! Fantastic. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Crystal Palace. I loved it!

Yay!!! I love CP breakfasts!!

Great castle pictures too!! :thumbsup2 I love it when the MK is EMPTY!!!!!! :woohoo:

Oh man, I love when the MK is that empty! I've always wanted to make a super early Crystal Palace reservation so we could get there before everyone else. So fun! That is such a good restaurant... my stomach is growling right now just thinking about it...

I love that the barber shop is real too! I decided a long time ago that if I ever have a son, I am bringing him to Disney for his first haircut. Some parents may just bring their kid to the local salon but forget that! Disney it is! haha

One day we really need to go to the Barbershop and get our hair didd ;) hahaha but really. I want mickeys in my hair and sparkles galore.

LOL I really can feel myself tearing up over here. TAKE ME HOME :(

Hahaha what a meaty update. :rotfl: Can't wait for Crystal Palace!!!!

Nothing beats walking down an empty Main Street first thing in the morning! :thumbsup2 It's so pretty and you got some great pictures of the castle!

Can't wait to hear about CP breakfast! We have done a late lunch/early dinner there... I hear breakfast is 10x better!

It was! You really should! I usually have to do at least one per trip. (: That cake is sooo good!

Haha nah I think I'll keep him, although I do love that shirt. :P

Me too! It's so great! They are definitely worth it, it's such a great breakfast! Mine is too...but my mom's making waffles for dinner so I'm good haha.

It just adds to the authenticity and it's great. My child is definitely getting their first haircut at Disney!

P.S. I have to apologize for spelling your name wrong for so long! I just figured out that it was Lia from your signature! So sorry!

It's so true! Nothing does! So many unobstructed views and ahh it's just completely magical. :wizard:

I'm just about to do that update! It was so much fun! I will agree, having eaten all three meals of the day there before, that Breakfast is definitely the best. :thumbsup2

Chapter 35- The Crystal Palace!

July 29th, 2011

We waited about 10 minutes on that lovely front porch of the Crystal Palace, in the gorgeous Florida sun, to be seated for breakfast. Our half booth/half table was on the left side when you walk in. (The opposite from the side I usually sit on.) New experiences! Yes!

We got to our table and it was totally Mickey-fettied out for the occasion!

The occasion of what, you might ask?

My birthday celebration, of course! Even though my birthday is in June, I just love celebrating it at Disney! Especially at character meals!

Our server brought orange juice for all of us and explained everything about the meal, which we already knew.

dsc02815l.jpg

Mike and I tried to take a mirror pic of us, but the mirror was a tad splotchy/there was a glare haha.

Piglet came out to see us right away, and he was so cute! He loved me!

Tigger came over right after that! The characters were so very prompt, we never waited! It was great!

Tigger loved Mike! There was a lot of fist pumping going on with the two of them LOL.

Everybody sing: "We're the three best friends that anybody could have..."

After Tigger bid us adieu, we decided that since no more characters were headed our way, it was high time to hit up the buffet!

Dave and I shared a giant plate of fruit to start:

And then he got another plate of basically fruit but some other things as well. There was so much variety! And the fruit was so fresh and perfect!

I love this breakfast.

Here's Mike's plate:

Pretty straightforward stuff, I think.

And here's mine:

Aw yeah. CARBS.

Mickey waffles, (regular and chocolate- although the regular ones are the BEST) Pooh's puffed french toast (YUM YUM YUMMMMM) and more delicious fruit!

We all got seconds (and thirds) of basically the same things, and I think I had some eggs or something...? I can't remember. All I know is that everything was fresh, delicious and completely perfect!

This is absolutely my favorite character breakfast on property. You all MUST go. I've been coming to the Crystal Palace since I was six and it seriously gets better every time. It's so great. I highly recommend it.

So, while we were eating, Pooh stopped by!

dsc02821cf.jpg

He was so precious, and was getting a little rumbly in his tumbly when he saw my Mickey waffles. Hopefully he was able to get a smackeral break at some point during the morning!

Eeyore stopped by not long after that! (Randomly angled pictures ahead.)

dsc02823z.jpg

Sunlight issue there...so we moved over. (:

dsc02824kg.jpg

There we go!

Eeyore is so adorable. I seriously LOVE HIM SO MUCH. He's always so down in the dumps and all I wanna do is give him a hug and a thistle bush to cheer him up. <3

When we were all done eating and had visited with every character, our server brought over the check, and this lovely surprise!

dsc02817ew.jpg

YES! Cupcake! I rarely say no to sugar, but Dave helped me eat this bad boy because I was so full from Mickey waffles!

I also got an awesome birthday card, signed by all the Hundred Acre Wood gang!

Score! Free souvenirs!

After that, we decided to head out, because the Magic Kingdom had officially opened, and we had an engagement with a certain favorite Space Ranger of Mike's...and mine, of course!

...I used to steal that mickey confetti and take it home with me when I was a child. I wish they sold it because I would skip around sprinkling it everywhere I go.

YOU AND PIGLET ARE SO CUTE! And I do so very much enjoy that you still wear that dress that I got you for your birthday your freshman year. (very good job to me!)

HAHAHA fist pumping with Tigger. That's fantastic. He's like holding onto mike for dear life.

Best buffet in the history of life.

YAY thank you for those delicious food pictures. YAY FOR THE MAGIC KINGDOM.

Kristen! I'm SO excited that you updated! hahah
I TOTALLY AGREE. Crystal Palace is the best breakfast of my life. SO good. Like it would be a must-do without the characters.
HOWEVER! The Hundred Acre Wood gang just makes it THAT MUCH BETTER! Yayyyyy!

...I still do that. :upsidedow Hehehe I love that stuff.

THANK YOU! I love him! :goodvibes And yes I absolutely love that dress! I especially love to wear it in Disney because it's very cool. :thumbsup2

It really was. And yes he loved Mike. They're best friends.

SERIOUSLY.

You're welcome! THAT'S THE NEXT ONE...maybe tomorrow?

Kristen! I'm SO excited that you updated! hahah

It really is! It's fabulous!! I would love it with or without characters, but of course Pooh and the gang are definitely a major perk! :thumbsup2

LOVED YOUR PAST 2 UPDATES!!!!! I actually just got back from the world myself so I totally understand the missing disney thing! I actually just tried Crystal Palace for the first time this trip and LOVED IT!!!! I enjoyed the 2 different types of Mickey Waffles! I actually really enjoyed there rasberry crumb cake as well! The characters were super cute as well! I loved the friendship day celebration they had where they did a parade around the restaraunt! The whole place was really cute! That looks like another great birthday place as well! I only have been 2 disney to celebrate my brithday once and like you it was a month later since my birthday often times conflicts with end of the year activities and i celebrated it at chef mickey's. Now i have ti remember I want to tell them it is my birthday at crystal palace sometime even if i go 6 months from the real day.

Okay, time to catch up!

You know, I've gone through the One Man's Dream exhibit, but I don't think we've ever watched the movie. Or if we have it was a really realllllly long time ago. Like you, our timing is always just off with it. Just another thing to add to my list for our next trip!

And of course Walt is smiling down on the frumps. You know we're his favorite fans.

OH THAT REMINDS ME! My husband now makes the deer face all the time at home, hahahahaha, particularly if I'm stressed out about something. It's so funny. What would a male frump be?

I was so obsessed with MK&A when I was younger - I loved their cassette tapes. I am the cute one - she's just my sister. Rock on.

Oh tour groups. I think we're only had one trip where we didn't really notice them (fortunately, that was our honeymoon). We always get really annoyed though when we're waiting in line for a character and there's only two of them there, then when they get close another 20 show up. Rude.

---

Empty MK is awesome. We've gotten in once before opening because of going on the earliest Keys to the Kingdom tour - the park just feels even more amazing when it seems like you're the only people in there. I'd want to get a job at WDW just to be able to run around in the middle of the night when no one else is there, even if it means I'll sweeping up trash, haha.

---

They really need to wipe off that mirror!

I love Winnie-the-Pooh. He never goes out of style. And neither does puffed french toast, YUM!

---

Sorry for getting so behind! My new computer is all set up though, and our busy time at work is over until May, so there's nothing to keep me away from you!

Mmm, Crystal Palace carbs! I just had some of those recently myself, and they are the best! That's what I always load up on when I go to a breakfast buffet!

Yum Yum Yum! Ahh, gotta go back!! I love their carb filled foods there. The puffed french toast was my favorite!

Great pics with the characters! And, I love the card and confetti! I love taking some of the confetti home with me. I have some pieces still in my park backpack lol.

Love the early morning main street and castle pics.
We went to CP for lunch last trip and it was so much fun. I loved it there!

Ooohh that meal made me sooo hungry for Disney food!!!! Eyeore is my favorite! He's so precious!! :goodvibes That card is so adorable!!! I can't wait to hear more!!

Ug... I am dying for that puffed french toast now!! Ahhh!! I haven't been to Crystal Palace in so long but I love it there! I love the confetti on the table and the card!!! That is so adorable.

And don't feel bad about spelling my name wrong! So many people do, but they figure it out eventually :thumbsup2 haha
