Okay, I've only been to Disney around 7 times in the past 10 years, you would think I would know the answer to this..... We're thinking of staying at Vero Beach after a cruise in March. Can I book Vero beach the way I would any other resort, or is the only way to buy points from a DVC member. If I have to buy points, how do I find out how many points I need and can I get those points from any DVC member or do they have to own at Vero Beach???:confused3

You can book the room directly from Disney reservations. You can go online to disneybeachresorts.com and book that way also. Or you can rent points from a DVC member and have them book the room for you. If you want to see how many points would be required for your stay, there is a link at the top of the page that has the DVC resort point charts. Good luck.:)

Thank you! Is it usually cheaper if you rent points?

That depends. The rack rate for a VB inn room lists at $319/night. March is premier season. There may be discounts available so you might get something a little cheaper.

To use points requires 18 points/night, weekdays, for an inn room, ocean view. You can generally rent points around $10/$11 each, so you could expect to pay a member about $180-$198/night to use points.

If you're going on a weekend however, then it would be cheaper to get the room directly from Disney.

Weekend points for a VB ocean view inn room runs 44 points/night. So at $10 to $11 per point, you'd spend $440 to $484 per night. Weekends are Friday or Saturday nights. Weekdays are Sunday thru Thursday night.

Thank you - this information has been very helpful
