So, I am guessing that this is some kind of *not a* secret sign that you are a dis'er?

Where did this come from and how did it start? Also, where do you put your green mickey's?

I put my Mickey head in the plastic frame that I kept my photopass card and was connected to a lanyard that I wore around my neck.

Unfortunately, no one said hi to me... sniff sniff

I think many years ago when lime green was adopted as the DIS color because it wasn't around too much (much more so today).
It wasn't the Mickey head, just the color.
I think people found the Mickey heads and just went with them.

I have never used a Mickey head in the parks, but have a lime green button with my user name on it and lime green ribbons on my bag and camera bag.
The DIS also used to sell a lime green DIS tee shirt. I used to have one of those.

I have never seen someone with the Mickey head, but have seen a lot of ribbons on bags and strollers.

This is wonderful. I look great in lime green! :)

I will have to plan for that in September.

BDL, I would totally have said hi to you in the park! My husband doesn't understand the dis or my fascination with it, but he will...bwah ha haa. Ahem.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled postings.

I only seen one lime green Mickey in the parks, on the bus actually, and I said "hello.

OP- you can get the lime green Mickey Head in Home Depot (they are actually paint swatches for Disney paint), they are free just like any other paint swatch. When I know we are going to Disney I make a few trips to Home Depot in the weeks/months before the trip and pick up a few each time, I also get other colors as well. I have used mine to decorate my resort room window while in Disney (there is a thread somewhere on here about decorating your room windows, great pics and ideas).
I have also laminated a lime green Mickey head and made a small hole in it and hung it on my purse (I wrote my "screen name" on it in black sharpie before I laminated it). I had a couple of people notice it and say hi.

I noticed one on someone else during our tripn in Feb. 2010, we were in Epcot (World Showcase) but, I didn't go over and say hi because she was yelling at her son. I was sitting near where they were standing and heard bits and pieces of the "discussion" and she was angry with her son because apparently he was whining and complaining ALOT (plus he wanted to go back to the Lego store in Downtown) and she had had enough of his attitude. I completely understood (been there done that with my own kids)but, I didn't think it was the best time to go over an "introduce" myself, LOL!

DH and I were just at Home Depot Saturday and I picked up a few lime green Mickey heads. When I showed them to DH he said you forgot to pay for them. I told him they were just paint samples and were free. Not sure he believed me!:rotfl:

It was the color we picked for the first DIS convention. We all got lime green lanyards to wear for the event. We picked this color because we felt it was stick out and be noticeable! :thumbsup2

It would be cool to see who was the first poster to "discover" the lime green mickey heads. Does anyone remember?
