So, I want to buy the $78 photopass + one week in advance (here is the link to the one I am talking about https://disneyland.disney.go.com/photopass/products )
My husband is concerned about when this "one week" takes place, is it after we start using it or once we purchase it?
In other words our trip is March 22-24 and I want to purchase it now but my husband is concerned the one week thing to use it is gone by the time we arrive.
Also does the photopass connect to our magic band + ???
How do we USE the photopass in the park?
Once we purchase it and if we purchase it in advance how do we link it to anything?
I have heard that attraction ride photos are free with a photopass how do we get those with this photopass?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm not completely sure how the 1-week pass works but can share some things that I do know:
  • If you're planning to buy Genie+ during your park days, the Photopass photos are all included for free the day you have Genie+; you can download them anytime for a period of a few weeks including during or after your trip.
  • Honestly, if you're only going to have three park days, even if the G+ cost is $30/day each day during your trip, I'd still highly recommend that over the separate Photopass purchase. You're talking a total difference of $12 over three days to be able to skip long lines on multiple rides each day while also having Photopass included. (EDIT: Ok, I'm clearly tired and just realized how bad I was at math here. You'll have more than one person in your party, so never mind about the cost difference as it would be much higher.)
  • If you want professional photos from the Photopass photographers, you'll pull up a code on your Disneyland app in the PhotoPass section and they'll scan it to link your photos to your account. (Your MagicBand+ could also be used to scan instead of the code on the phone I believe--I haven't done it personally at DL and didn't notice anybody using MBs in our trip in Dec., but that's how it's always worked at DW.)
  • For ride photos like Radiator Springs Racers, when you get off the ride, you'll come to a room with a lot of monitors where you'll need to find your photo, then manually enter the code in your Disneyland app to link it to your account.

Yes, you can use your Magic Band for photopass.

When you add your Magic Band to your account on the Disney app, it is linked. You pose for a picture then stick your arm out for the photographer to tap their phone-type device next to your Magic Band (similar to how you walk into the park). The photo doesn't show up on your app immediately.

Regarding ride photos, I recommend taking a picture of your photo so you have the number and can enter it into the photo section on the app after you walk away from the crowds.
