Stupid ? of the day: How do you pronounce Dis?

I never even thought about it...just said DIZZ... i guess since its like DIZNEY...but i read this and 2nd guessed myself good thing i had it right!!

Well, I've been saying it as it rhymes with "HISS". Figures that I got it wrong! I think that I'm too old and set in my ways to change my pronunciation - maybe I'll just get a head start at learning how to embarass my children!

I can just hear the sounds now: Aww, MOM!!!!!!

I think "DIS" is an acronym for Disney Information Station--how would you say that? I would say that it's possible that when that acronym was coined, the term "diss" as in "dis-respecting" something was not prevalent. To me, it always seemed like the "dizz" as in Disney.

I thought it rhymed with "kiss".

I would have said DIS...but then here we pronounce the S in Disney...not Dizney.
