Stupid disagreement with friend re: EMH

I don't know why I'm even posting this. Maybe I just need validation, even though I know I'm right.

I was with a group of friends this morning and three of us are planning upcoming Disney trips. Friend A was telling Friend B that one of the great perks of staying in the Disney resorts was that you got into the parks one hour early. I piped in to add that generally it was just one park each day that opened early and/or there may also be one that stayed open later, but that I'd never seen more than that in a day. Friend A responded that I was wrong and that all of the parks opened an hour early each day to resort guests, but different resorts will tell you different parks because they want to spread out the crowds (but that you could really go to any of them). I told her that it's not information that you get "from your resort," but they publish schedules that are generally available to everyone. Friend A continued to insist that I was wrong. Friend B sat there looking bewildered. I deleted Friend A from my Facebook friends and took her off my autodial. (Just kidding about that last part.)

But seriously. Eight more sleeps (!) til our 6th trip in just over 5 years. I think I have this EMH thing down... Right???

Invite your "friend" to come on your trip with you. You'll go to the park with published EMH hours. She can go to a different park at the same time. See who has more fun.

OP, you're *mostly* right...

Sometimes, there is both an AM and PM EMH on the same day, but at different parks.

AND, during insanely peak attendance (like the week before and during Easter), MK did have a DAILY AM EMH. It opened at 7am each day the week we were there (general public opening time was 8am).

AND, to add confusion to that, MK also would have an evening EMH on the same day as its AM EMH (since they had a daily AM EMH).

In your friend's defense, she might have gotten her info from someone who was there over a holiday week, when the EMH thing gets TOTALLY out of control!

1. Tell friend B in private how EMH *actually* works.

2. Tell friend A "You should definitely go to the parks that they don't say have an EMH, because the crowds will be so low! Wonderful idea! Have a great trip!"

3. Ask friend A when they return how those morning EMH at the parks they "don't tell you about" went.

Or maybe that's just what I would do.

Now if Magic Kingdom had morning EMH every day of one particular week and another park had morning EMH once, then your friend was partially right part of the time.

I would suggest saying "I think" followed by the facts just once, then go along (play along) with what your friend insists. Let your friend run into the truth later by herself (okay for you to be at her side), but don't say "I told you so".

Now if you think your friend is headed for real trouble, possibly with you in tow, you might, a little in advance, ask something like "Are you sure Epcot is open early? Should we ask over at the concierge desk?" before going out to the Epcot bus.

Why not print this/ or e-mail her these responses. U r right. Just got back and why do folks argue over something that in the end they will SEE for themselves.
