We're staying on someone else's points for the first time. I see we will have a mini-fridge and microwave. Are there any bowls or utensils, or will we need to take our own? Thanks!

There will be paper plates & bowls and plastic knifes, forks and spoons.

There will also be a coffee maker, and real glasses and coffee mugs.

There's a toaster as well, and I'm pretty sure a hand held can opener.

We usually bring glad storage containers to use as cereal bowls because the paper bowls are truly small and we use them for other things as well.

We had a cork screw opener and ice bucket as well. The fridge is small, but I removed the bottom rack so that we could fit our Brita pitcher, milk and juice bottles. There is small "freezer" section and we had a tiny ice tray that made 8 cubes  which we didn't use. There wasn't that many bowls, plates or plasticware, but we were able to get more at the pool bar and the restaurant. Paper towels are also provided and a dishtowel. However they did not provide the sponge and small Polmolive dish soap as they have in the past.

We got a sponge & dish soap in April - have they stopped supplying these since then?

We rarely eat in our room, except from a few breakfasts and snacks, so the small fridge had plenty of room for our requirements. :)

We had the little sponge and dish soap in studios at the BCV and AKV in June.

i think they're still supposed to supply a sponge and soap dish, i'd call the front desk if they forget to leave them

We had sponge and soap on our March, April, and July visits.

Someone must have forgot to replace them.

Do you think a pint of Haagen Daaz would fit in the freezer??

I have to admit that we never used the freezer, so I can't recall the size. I'm tyring to think, maybe lying sideways, but I'm not sure if there's room for it.

Funny story though. Back in April we went out to Publix and bought some milk, fruit, Lunchables, etc and put them in the fridge. Lucky for us, my husband removed the bottom shelf to stand the milk on the floor of the fridge. Anyway, on the morning of our third day I decided to have some of the mixed fruit we bought for breakfast. Well apparently, it's important to check the temp setting on the fridge when loading it up, because someone had left the cold setting at the highest level and the fridge had become a freezer. Everything we had, excpet for the milk, because it was at the bottom, was frozen. Frozen fruit, frozen juice boxes, frozen leftovers, frozen cheese snacks, and frozen custom made dipped marshmallow from Goofy's candy company at DTD.

So essentially you can make the entire fridge become a freezer.

Now we know to check the settings when we load it up at the beginning.

P.S. I salvaged the marshmallow.

I have a similar question
Can I fit a pint of Chunky Monkey in there...please please please:confused3
(without making the whole thing a freezer;) )

We're just back from BCV on 8/19. I would guess no on the pint of ice cream, unless you transferred it to a narrow containter. The freezer space is long and narrow - maybe 4.5 inches tall AT MOST.

We really enjoyed having the fridge, we had also brought an electric griddle with us and made things like pancakes, grilled cheese sandwiches, eggs, etc. (We only ate breakfast out once and it was TERRIBLE, so I was glad to have the kitchenette!) We were provided with enough supplies to accomodate us - the only thing we ran low on was spoons and there was no splenda, so we just grabbed extras of those at the parks. :)

We did have the palmolive and a sponge as well.

I do not believe a pint will fit in the freezer as I could only fit the 16oz water bottles in there. There didn't seem to be much room vertically in it.

As PP said, make sure you check the temp of the fridge. We put ice cream from Beaches and Cream in the freezer and it melted because someone turned up the thermometer on the fridge.:sad2:

Indeed that has typically been our problem...the temp being too high...I don't know why people turn it up! It is a fridge!

Thanks for the answer to the icecream question...I guess I will just have to eat it all! sigh....the things I do... ;)

We always take a small paring knife and cutting board. You just can't cut limes or cheese with those plastic knives. Also you can request a blender.

I only use the freezer part to freeze water bottles for the next day. I like the idea of eating the entire pint of ice cream. I mean, what can you do? There's just no ROOM in that freezer!:thumbsup2
