We had to change to a studio preferred view for this summer. I'm not really clear as to what each view is. My confirmation sheet says garden/pool view. Can someone explain, other than the obvious, what I might expect? Is there a particular view of this type that might be less desirable than others? Thanks a lot.

I'm assuming you are referring to BWV because I saw that in your signature ?
If so, garden/pool can be a view of the Luna Park pool or the quiet pool. Also, it could be a view of the canal and valet parking lot area. BW designates some of the rooms on the canal/parking lot side as preferred and others as standard. I'm not sure where they draw the line but I was in studio 4131 and actually thought MS and BWV had made an error in charging me preferred view points for my room. My room was pretty far from the elevator. I was about the 3rd room from the end of the hallway. True, the valet parking lot is off in the distance, but it's still the primary view from inside the room and on the balcony. The canal was nice---got to see the Friendship boat off to the right, ducks wandering about and also could see the TOT off in the distance if I was actually standing on my balcony and looking to my right. I called MS/BW to inquire about this view after I got home and found out this was indeed a preferred view. I've read reports from Members here on this board who were down the hallway from me (closer to the elevator) that were charged SV points. So I think the PV rooms that have this view are in the minority.

While I was at the BW I walked around to check out the other views. Whenever I decide to stay here again I will specifically request one of the pool views as I liked them much better.
I fully understand, while I consider the PV I had as less desirable, others would have been perfectly happy with it. But I honestly thought any view of a parking lot/service area drive was supposed to be categorized a standard view. I learned differently from my experience. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the BWV.

preferred - that is BWV - just depends if you like the main pool? - guess what - you are so lucky - because that is the the majority of these views.....

I would ask for the quiet pool (I never got it - only the main pool) - but you can ask.

or the canal view closer to MGM - facing the Swan????

BWV pool/garden view rooms are also the rooms that face the BWI just outsude of the lobby going to the boatdocks.

I believe they also face the Swan/Dolphin above the DVC offices next to Jellyrolls. Some have reported these as standard/others preferred. All the standard views I've had faced the front driveway or the pond.

BWV is very lucky in that the vast majority of their villas have very good views but one PV villa view that is not considered a boardwalk view overlooks the boardwalk green. The green is located between BWV and BWI and these rooms have very good views including of the boardwalk. These are the villas that Paul is referring to. Excellent rooms!
