First time posting here - glad to have found the community! I'm SO EXCITED about our trip to Disney. The past month, instead of watching TV, I've been surfing YouTube for Disney trip vids and flickr for pix!

We'll be there June 25 – July 2, then heading to the Gulf coast for a family reunion, and stopping back by on our way home (probably July 9 or 10). We're dropping a fairly serious chunk of cash on this (upgrading to an Annual Pass when we get there), and we can finally afford to because we've finally paid off both of our student loans! Plus it's our 5th anniversary. So, kind of a special thing all around :D

Who's going? Me (Clickety Keys) and the DH (also known as the Hunk). We went to the MK for one day on our honeymoon in 2004, but we haven't been able to go back since. This will also be our first time ever staying at a resort (7 nights). I have family in the area, and if they knew we were paying to stay on-site they would no doubt offer to have us stay with them – but we wanted to try it. We'll see how it goes. I AM SO PSYCHED!!

More to come...

Travel: We're less than 9 hours away by car (at least according to Google Maps) so we're planning to drive. I don't have a whole lot planned for the first day beyond resort exploring, since that's a first for us. I'm also not entirely sure when we'll be leaving. If by 1 AM on the morning of the 25th I am still wide awake, we may just leave then! Since it's just the two of us – no kids – a mini-marathon shouldn't be a problem.

What to bring?!
nail clippers (I'll have to leave the clippers in the room, I think?)
notebook/blank book - I plan to journal while we're down there, so I want something simple that I can add stickers and photos to. I want to get character autographs on pages that are big enough to add pictures.
pens/pencils - multiple colors of course!
crocs - to wear around the pool and/or if it rains
extra sneakers - because shoes take awhile to dry
fast-drying clothes & sturdy, comfy shoes
ponchos
Ziploc bags for electronics in case of rain
small towels to take into the parks
grocery bags to hold wet stuff
laptop; card reader, cords, charger for anything/everything
sunblock & lip balm w/sunblock
video camera (it also takes stills)
granola bars or other snacks
fan/mister
band-aids
OTC meds
bug repellent
extra socks
books
mp3 player
sunglasses
water bottles!
driver's license, health insurance card, cell phones (which of course we should have anyway!)

Whew! Am I missing anything?

We're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and we've reserved a room with a standard view. Does anyone know which sections are closest to the lobby? I've heard that some of them are kind of a long walk!

I'm very excited about the campfire storytelling and the drumming in the evenings. I haven't been able to find anything out about times yet, though.
