I apologize in advance for another "stroller thread" but I have to say THANKS!!!! ;)

We just arrived back today from our first ever non-Disney stroller renting experience. At the advice of those of these Boards I bought 2 Maclaren Volo strollers for DDs (who absolutely refuse to ride in strollers anywhere but WDW). My oldest is a very small 6 and NEVER rode in a stroller, even as a small child. But she fit in stroller and loved it for times when she got tired of walking (we walked from BWI to MGM and other long walks),

They were AWESOME! Light, easy to fold and made all of the difference in the World. Thanks everyone!!!

We LOVE, love love our Volo too! DD4 loves it! I am going to buy another one for new dd by our next vacation. Can't say enough good about them! Perfect for WDW and anywhere else too!

I have really been struggling with the stroller decision. I have decided that we need to bring one of our own, but do we maybe need 2 for the two kids? I know DS is going to get tired. How much of a pain is it pushing around two strollers all day?

We are taking 2 strollers as well. At first I thought about getting the Combi Twin Savvy double stroller for DD3 and DS1 but me and hubby will be spiltting up a lot and each of us will need a stroller. So instead I got 2 Combi single strollers.

You guys sound like me...I keep changing my mind on bringing my own single umbrella stroller or renting a double stroller there, just incase the older one whines about walking....I just don't know what to do!!! :confused3

HI,

I'm thinking right now of buying a Combi Cosmo. Do you like yours? What model is it? TIA!

As for the Volos, I hear everyone raving, but don't you miss the recline feature and canopy? Just curious!

The Combi will be for my then 2-year-old, but I too am debating whether we need another stroller for the 5-year-old. Maybe I'll just rent as needed for him.

For our trip last September we took 2 single combi savvys. One for each baby! It was so easy that we are taking them again in October.

I also have a Peg double which is also lightwight and a dream to use, but for Disney having a Combi for each baby works wonderful!

Since I have a Combi and a Peg, I'd be happy to answer any questions regarding those :)

For us having 2 strollers was very, very easy. They were easy to load on the monorail and bus - on the monorail they just stayed in their stollers for the ride. They were also very easy in crowds, and in the airport. If Dh wanted to get something to eat he could take one and I had the other - worked out well if one kid was asleep and didn't mind waiting in line, and the other wanted to just stroll. The combi folds up and is super lightweight. We had two babies, which meant formula, diapers and toys in our room - having an extra small stroller didn't hamper our space anymore :)

traci - (again  ) maybe you can help because you've flown to Orlando with 2 little ones...

We are going in Sept. with our 14 month old and almost 3 year old (just under 3 for obvious reasons ;), flying to MCO from Hartford. So we'll need 2 carseats, a stroller (double? single?), bags, diaper bags, etc. We have one of those Baby on the Fly carseats that turns into a stroller so we'll bring that, but it isn't one we'd take to WDW. So do we bring our Graco duoglider (which is big, bulky, but bought and paid for) and the 2 carseats. OR 2 carseats, a chicco that we have and buy another chicco or something similar (NOT spending a lot as we have 3 strollers and I refuse to pay more than $50 for a 4th!). WHAT TO DO??? :confused3 I can just picture us going through the airport with ALL THIS STUFF (plus 2 kids of course) in tow. We'll look like the circus is coming to town. :clown:

I'm overthinking this I'm sure (half the fun of planning :yay: ).

That aside, I sure am having fun planning our first trip to Disney with both kids (DD went at 3 months old...I know, silly :rolleyes2 ) especially with the help of these boards!

I was going to get the Cosmo, but there was no snack tray/cup holder for the baby. So I got the Savona and the Tetra models.

Starting in 2005 the Volo does come with a sun canopy. I don't know about the others, but DS does not miss the recline feature at all since he does not sleep in the stroller, not that we would not like him to, but because he does not want to miss a thing. He is 2/5 yo.

Ah the 2 or one debate!! I love it! Last year I was deciding which to do - get 2 umbrellas or just one light double. Then we took 2 strollers to Hershey park for the day to try it out. And it was a HUGE pain. First off Dh would take 3 kids on a ride I would be waiting with baby in stroller number one. Then baby would cry we would walk- they would get off ride and forget to grab the stroller because they were running to the next ride. We kept having to look for stroller number 2 all day. We just found it much easier to have them both in one place so we got the Combi and couldn't be happier(folds easily and has that neat carry strap) It will make disney trip number 2 this year holding a 16 month old and a 3 year old.

I decided I like it better than the Macs. I know I'm practically the only one. ;) I like the design, and I think it's easier to handle with the bar vs. the two handle grips. The most important thing is that it's lightweight, and still sturdy enough to replace our big Metrolite AND the umbrella stroller for everyday use. We'll take it through 3 airports to Nantucket in a few weeks, and I'll post a review of it. I got the Combi Cosmo (the EX I think). I don't remember, but I do know it's the cute Mango color.

And I almost forgot...while I was test driving it, I played around with the doubles too. They were impressively lightweight as well. Maybe a good choice for others who need a double!

i also had (notice had) that graco bus! i cannot imagine having to deal with that crazy thing at disney, or the airport or our resort! but since it is paid for i can understand taking it :) i bought our combis off the net - there is a site - i'll look for it. they were $70 each and no shipping or tax. they recline, the babes were comfy and it was well worh the $$. plus, the combi is so easy to fold and unfold - that is REALLY important to me. With 2 little one if i can use one hand even better! oh and they are super lightweight! my double peg is a fancier stroller, but for disney (or any travel when dh is with) i will only use the combis. i really love the stroller.
as for the diapers, formula and extra baby stuff have you thought of shipping it to your resort prior to leaving? oh and i would buy another chicco, or something similiar - just my opinion - those duogliders are so darn bulky.
good~luck!
oh and the outfit a friend made :) thank you for the sweet compliment :)
