Stroller Wheelchairs at F&G festival playgrounds

We were at F&G festival over the weekend. The CMs who were working at the playgrounds all told us that strollers used as wheelchairs are not being permitted into the playground areas. They explained that the areas are relatively small and they are not allowed due to safety. We were there during a busy spring break week so it may be different when less crowded but I wanted to let you all know so there aren't any surprises once there.

It was that way last year also, as it is indeed very small areas. They just draw the line at ALL wheeled vehicles, otherwise it would be chaos and very dangerous as there are little ones running helter skelter around letting off their energy. Believe it or not, if they let an exception to stroller wheel chairs (even that would probably be too much in that area) there would actually be "some" adults in ECV's say it would be descriminating to them to not allow them in too. Disney can't win for losing - they can't please everybody. This is not directed to you because I see your point, but it's the overall picture I'm seeing right now with all the me'ism. If you read the forum about the little toddler almost run over by the ECV in the playground, some people are actually blaming her or/and her parents for not watching her more closely when they both were doing all they could. Hope you had a good trip, we are going soon, it's just so beautiful.

I don't think this issue has anything to do with "me-ism". As an adult who often travels solo with her grandchildren and who is in a power wheelchair, it's obvious that my grandkids would NOT be able to play and let off their steam in this area as I would not be able to supervise them. As to the toddler "almost run over"....they did not get run over, and yes, parents are responsible for supervision. Those in mobility devices are responsible to look out for toddlers but since they are unpredictable, in a crowded situation it's impossible to know when they plan to dart in front of you. So...should I sit on the sidelines every time there's a loose toddler? Not gonna happen. In the situation of the playgrounds, I have no choice.
