I have a 5 and 2 year old. We were going to bring a double umbrella stroller. I was wondering if it would be more benfecial to just rent their strollers at the parks, since we are staying at a resort and will be taking the buses back and forth.
But was thinking those strollers have to be so uncomfortable.

if you only had the 5 year old i would say that the disney rented ones would be just fine. but the 2 year old will probably nap more and need to rest more and for that i have to admit that the WDW strollers might not be so comfortable.

folding up your strollers and taking them on the busses is IMHO the biggest drag to haveing them along and why i tend to go with a lighter umbrella stroller with a sun shade. they just fold up so much easier and so much smaller than other strollers.

if it were my 2 and 5 year old and i had DH and myself there, i might opt for two seperate umbrella stollers and at the bus stop one holds the strollers while the other gets to hold the kids.

:cool1: Rent one! We brought ours one year, many years ago when my youngest was little and I swore I would never do that again..It was the biggest pain in the butt! Lugging it on the plane, lugging it on and off the busses, ugh....Don't stress yourself anymore, I would rent one.:thumbsup2

We've always brought our own. May times, too many to count the kids have been asleep or fallen asleep on the buses. Once at the resort we opened our stroller and pushed them to the room. If we had rented in the park we would have had to carry both kids and the walks generally aren't that short. Even if they weren't sleeping they were still tired and didn't want to walk. We never found folding the stroller to go onto the bus to be that big a deal. We did make sure that we had bags to carry everything. Husband would take a bag or two and the stroller and I would take the boys. Good luck with whatever you choose.

If you don't have them, buy 2 umbrella strollers. You can pick one up for $10-15 and their very portable and work fine with 2 & 5 year old.

This is two nights from our dec trip we drive so I brought both in case we decided the umbrella stroller wasn't enough.

We were at Caseys Corner dd slept while we ate. We strolled right out of the park just like this waited for the bus and when it arrived she got up we got on and when we got off she was asleep again so she went right back in for the walk to our room.

This was a couple of nights later during EMH at MK she decided to take a nap.

The umbrella stroller we have is great it was 19.99 at walmart babiesrus has them online and you can pick any color you would like. The wheels have shocks and find it to be really easy to push dd prefers the big stroller so that she can lay back when she naps.

I would bring two umbrella strollers, one for each of the children. Plus if you have two it would be easier to get on and off the buses. I've saw many people try to get on and off the buses with bigger strollers and they had a hard time. Plus like someone said before it will be easier to push sleeping children back to the room if they fall asleep on the buses. If you don't bring the strollers make sure you have white towels for the strollers you rent because the strollers are dark colors and plasctic and they will get hot very easily if they are left out in the sun when you get on rides or see shows. Good luck with choosing.

If you don't already have a twin umbrella stroller and decide that you want just one stroller and not two I would go with the jeep we got it and the seats recline a little the back panel rolls up into a small pillow it pushes great with my dd6 and dd6 each weighing between 30 and 40 pounds.

I like this one b/c the seat is grey and not black like the ones at BRU and TRU. The seats are a nylon material when you roll the back pad up the it is a net mesh which makes it really breathable and since it is a nylon it cleans easily and no worry about went it gets wet.

we have the jeep twin umbrella stroller and my kids love it! they were 2 and 4 last trip and it worked out great. This trip they will be 3 and 5 and we are taking it again. It is easy to fold up when you get on the bus. The only issue is that the weight limit is 35 lbs per side. My dd is that weight now so this will be our last trip using our jeep:sad: If you are at the limit also you could bring one for your 2 yr old and then if your 5 yr old needs one then you can rent it on those days.

About the weight limit, I bought a cheapie umbrella stroller for $20. It had a taller handle and a hood for the sun. Anyway, she was definitely over the weight limit, I used it anyway and I still have it and it works. I figure if it breaks, it is only $20 lost. Nothing even came loose.

Our problem is a very big 5 year old Looks and weighs like an 8 year old. No stroller out there that does'nt cost Big Bucks will be sturdy enough for him so we finally decided to rent a double for the week and use the other part for our bags. Also bringing small towels to make it a little more comfortable.

If you do decide to bring your own stroller, invest in one of the clear plastic stroller covers. During our trip, we had a few downpours and if our stroller had not been covered, I am not sure if it would have dried. I left mine in the origional packaging in case i didn't use it and wanted to return it when I got home. I was glad I had it. Also, it can get very hot in a stroller. I saw alot of people with clip-on fans( the kind with soft foam blades) attached to their stroller. I thought that was a great idea. Most strollers are dark colors so they get hot.
