We are going to WDW for DD's 1st b-day the first week of May 2006. We contemplated bringing her stoller but feel it is too big and bulky to bring on the bus transportation to and from the resorts. So we are planning to rent a stroller for her. Can you tell me how much a stroller rental costs? Do they have different types of strollers, such as umbrella, ones with canopies, etc.? I want one that has a canopy to provide shade from the sun. Do you have to rent a stroller each time you switch parks during the day or does it cover all of the parks per day? Are there any discounts for renting for multiple days? Any info. will be greatly appreciated! :)

There's no way that I would do Disney without my own stroller for a one year old. The rentals are hard plastic (no recline) with some sun protection, but they aren't really suitable for a one year old. Plus, then you would have no stroller in the airport and other places. Here's a link that shows pics and answers your other questions:

I'd recommend spending the money on a decent, lighter weight stroller that you can use for Disney - trust me, you'll use it plenty at home, too, when you get sick of the monster travel system!

I would NEVER put any child under 2.5 in a Disney rental, especially the ones at MK. You have no storage, They are a bit big for a small child, they are hard plastic, & there is no reclining. Plus, you will need it in sooooo many places beside just the parks. Oh yeah, there is also the comfort of knowing something famaliar for your baby.

Personally, I have taken my evenflo travel system and found it perfectly easy. I have also taken my double jogger and found it rarely a hassle. I just believe there are people who are bothered by any stroller at all and people like me who just accept it as part of life with a small child. And I'm sure there are some who fall in between.

However, if you truly don't want to find out how difficult you (and it varies with everyone) find having your own stroller with you, you may just want to invest in a low-cost lightweight stroller for the trip--it might cost you less than the rental too.

You've been given a link to stroller details, but quickly... Rental costs are for the day, not just the park. You may rent for multiple days for a discount (10%, I think). Each park has different types of strollers, but they are all the same at each park--singles & doubles. How good each parks strollers are varies, MGM is probably the best, MK definetly the worst. They are all pretty much jogging types of strollers.

That is all I need to know! We will definitely invest in a lightweight stroller of our own when the time draws near then. I don't mind bringing my stroller at all. I was just wondering if it would be a hassle getting on and off the buses with it...esp. since they tend to get overly crowded sometimes. But I will do what is best for dd and bring her own stroller so that solves that dilemma! Thanks for your replies! :)
