stroller question

we took a jogger in may 05 and it worked out fine. you can bring whatever kind of stroller you want! have fun!

Considering that we travel with a double stroller I would say it's not too big. Is a super compact single the easiest to deal with on busses, etc? Of course. But, you should be fine!

If you are looking for an alternative, I recommend this one:

The advantages of this one in addition to what you like about the one you posted about is that its lighter, it has cupholders, and the ffront tray comes off, so your two year old can climb in and out easily by himself. Plus the price is great for an extra stroller and you wont be concerned about it every time you leave it unattended.

What you want for a stroller is something comfortable for your child, easy for you to manipulate on and off the buses and some rides, and is comfortable to push for hours and hours. We had two children (ages 3 and 18 mos) and took two Chicco umbrella-type strollers. They also had canopies and one of the strollers had a big basket. Both strollers reclined somewhat, but not flat.

We also carried a big backpack and didn't rely on the basket underneath just because you don't want to be bogged down with picking up a lot of stuff every time you need to park the stroller to get into line. We kept plastic ponchos in the basket to throw over the strollers during rain showers, a travel packet of wipes and a few extra diapers. We were able to leave it all in the basket whenever we left the stroller or even when we folded it up.

Consider your adult to child ratio too because if you have to carry a sleeping child onto a bus, you don't want the adult carrying everything else to be overloaded with bags, jackets, and a bulky stroller. We luckily had carrying straps on the strollers so you could wear it over your shoulder.

We sprayed Scotch-guard all over our strollers which doesn't prevent the rain from soaking in, but makes spilled ice cream easier to clean off.

My last suggestion would be to take the stroller and child on a test run to a camper or boat show, a large mall or some event that will require you to walk with the child for at least two hours and put the child in and out of the stroller repeatedly. You may discover that your back hurts from pushing it or you break nails trying to buckle the straps.

well we're a military family and have taken the stroller to events on base where we have to ride a bus, push it around, fold it up and lug it back on. Of course dh is normally the one doing all that so I'll to make sure he's good with it LOL. The one thing that I wish my stroller had that doesn't is a snack tray. But it reclines almost flat and you can still get to the under basket easily and it's fairly large. It's a dream to push, even loaded down and the handle adjusts to several heights.

We took a big single jogger (Dreamer Design Manhattan Dlx) on our last trip and it was fine. It was heavier and bulkier than our previous umbrella style, but soooo much easier for us to push and big enough for our tall 4yr old to feel comfy in as well. The only word of warning is that these types of strollers do not fold flat and usually have a bulky fold. We love ours though, and will be taking it again on our next trip!
