Stroller on a plane?

I just read on the Podcast board that you cannot take a jogging stroller on a plane. Is this correct? We're flying United and American. I cannot find anything on their websites.

We've taken an umbrella stroller on American a couple times, gate checked each time. No problem. Our new stroller is a jogging stroller (single), but it isn't any bigger than a Graco buggie when folded.

Please tell me the person on the podcast board isn't correct.
