Is anyone as insane as I am- I end up getting a new stroller for each trip! I don't mean to- I just always find new info about a better one, or decide I need a double, umbrella, jogger, etc. This year I am going with the Maclarren Volo single for my 5 year old (because it holds up to 60 lbs,) and the double jeep umbrella stroller for my twins (because I am convinced it will be easier to maneuver). I have to figure out what to do with my old ones... ebay maybe? Anyway- I was just wondering if anyone else does this.....
:earsboy:

My Dh thinks I am a little stroller crazy. I have a stroller for all kinds of needs ;) I have 2 doubles strollers, a tandem and a side by side. They both come in handy for diff activities. I have a handful of singles because they are all NOT created equal. I learned that the hard way ;)

LOL!!! Yes, DH tacks on $400 to the cost of our Disney trip because I just have to have a new stroller (bought the Peg Perego P3 for this trip). I am thinking the Volo would suit our needs for our next trip so I think he'll be happy that I will *only* be buying a $100 stroller. :rotfl2:

Count me in, but only since I found these boards ;) . Of course my teens don't need one, & the other one is only 2yo. :) I bought the Mac Techno, with the promise to DH this will be the final! No regrets though. It is such an easy one to use. But I do find myself checking out the other strollers in stores & when there is a good sale I am tempted. lol How sad, a disboard addiction, now this.

BTW where do you all store yours? And......when you sell them let me know?!

Guilty! :guilty: I think I only had one stroller that I actually used for two different trips, but they were less than 6 months apart. In the process of picking out a good double stroller for our June trip since I still want to have a place for our oldest DS to rest when he wants to. I have sold others in garage sales...but I have seen a lot offered on Ebay also!

I've purchased 3 strollers for Disney trips-a single MacLaren Daytripper (in 2002), a double MacLaren for Jan 04 (got the least use out of that and it was the most expensive-my youngest HATES it) and a Peg Perego Pliko for Oct 04 (LOVE IT!!!!!!). Last Oct I had the Pliko for then 21 month old and rented doubles in the parks for then 5 1/2 and 3 3/4 year olds. This worked out great for us. We liked having to deal with only 1 stroller on the bus/boat/monorail. And when kids were tired going back to resort 1 could sit in Pliko, 1 could use running board and we carried the baby.

Now I'm not sure what to do for my Oct 05 trip. I'm going with my then 6 1/2 year old a few days early. Should I take the MacLaren Daytripper for her and hope that we won't have to rent in the parks when the others arrive. The older 2 could switch off between daytripper and running board on Pliko. Or maybe at least rent fewer days. It is probably worth the hassle of taking it with me just to try and at least get more use out of that stroller too and save at least 3 days of stroller rentals.

Why would a 6 1/2 yr old, and older kids, need a stroller?

Just had to laugh at "stroller junkies" because we haven't taken a stroller since ds turned 3. He wouldn't stay in it and never complained about walking, but I miss it terribly...having it for all the junk, bottles of water we used to bring, souveniers, jackets etc. I thought that was what you were talking about, LOL. I've been cramming everything we need into a little purse, and we don't buy anything at the parks. Although, we sure do buzz around a lot quicker, and it's good to see how much money I'm saving, LOL.

When I first saw this, I thought "Oh no, that's not me...I only have 1 stroller", but then I counted again and I have 3: 2 umbrella-types that I don't think count as "real" strollers.

But now I'm getting obsessed with finding a stroller for our Oct. trip. I'll have an 8 mo. old and a 4 yr. old. First I looked into the sit-n-stand ones and found they were hard to find. Plus I didn't think my older son would be comfortable. Then I looked into the double tandem strollers cuz I read they were easier to maneuver. But I couldn't find one that my son would fit into (he's about 41 in. and weighs around 40 lb.s, I think). Then I read the side-by-side doubles were easier to handle and might be big enough...now I'm thinking of taking my old, worn in Graco single stroller and putting a folded up umbrella stroller under the seat in the basket.

Would the Volo fit under the seat, and do you think this is a good idea? Any other suggestions????

Thanks!
Linda

Linda...I am going through the same thing. I did find a tandem Graco stroller called the duo glide that I think will work pretty good. We took it for a test ride last weekend at Babies R Us. My oldest DS will be 5 in June he is 42 inches tall and weigh's 40 pounds and he was quite comfortable in the seats (even the back one). I was originally looking for the Sit N Stand brand stroller, but it has been impossible to find. According to the salesperson at Babies R Us they are coming out with a new model, but he couldn't tell me when. We recently saw people have this at our zoo and it looked like it would be a great thing for Disney! Anyways, just thought I would give you the info I've gathered and wish you luck!

I have a duo glide and it can be a real hassle getting it on and off the bus. We only used it when our two were pretty little. My oldest DS6 now walks everywhere and has not used a stroller for our trips since just after his 4th birthday. We bought a Volo two years ago and it has made three great trips to the park. DS3 loves it and it is easy to fold, carry and use.

My DH folded it up and it really wasn't much bigger than our single Graco which we have taken on previous WDW trips with us. DH actually thought that this double may be better because it stands by itself. Guess we will find out!

Well it's 6 1/2 and younger. Last year my DS was 3 3/4 and he did need one and if he was in one she wanted to be too. For our next trip he will be nearly 5 so maybe he won't need one and I can take just the Peg Perego for the 2 1/2 year old.

I think its hard to find a stroller that is comfortable for both 8 month old and 4 year old. My youngest HATES my double side by side and umbrella strollers in general. She loves the Peg Perego-its very comfortable for her and it has a running board on the back for an older child.

You could take your Graco single and rent a single in the parks for your 4 year old as needed. The park strollers are very easy to push.
