Forgive me for posting yet another stroller question. But I'm new to this site and need advice. We will be taking our almost 4 year old twins to Disney in Sept. We have a rather large double stroller that I know would difficult to manuver onto buses, trains, etc. and it also has a wheel that comes off. We are looking buying 2 single strollers to take. The problem is that most of ones I have seen have weight limits of 30 or 35 pounds.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a stroller for 4 year olds? We can always rent if we can't find one. But I have seen some great sales where I can buy one for less than renting. I'd like to have 2 singles rather than a double. We'll have 4 adults travelling so it won't be a problem to have a pusher. Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Blessings,
Jenny:flower3:

Maclaren Volo is great for 4 year olds. Super lightweight but very easy to steer with a preschooler in it (up to 55 pounds)! Kids also sit deep in it and even though they are sitting upright, they nap easily in it. The 2010 models should be out now and maybe you can find a 2009 color on sale. They sell them at Babies R Us so you can test drive them there.

Maclaren actually puts some on ebay (they go by Babyproductstore) with free shipping.

Albee baby has some on clearance with free shipping

I would also check out craigslist. FYI, they did just have a recall so any on craigslist may need the free hinge covers from Maclaren.

My daughter bought a Combi Flare. goes up to 55 lbs, folds up easy, has a carry strap and only weighs 13lbs. It has a small mesh basket in the bottom that we could fit our water and ponchos in. Around $75 on Amazon.

We got a Maclaren exactly this way. I bought an 06 model in 07 on ebay for around $60 with free shipping for my then4 1/2 year old. It was brand new and worth every penny :)

I would not waste money buying strollers for 4 year olds.

Rent a double from Orlando Stroller Rentals- We love them. My 4year old fits just fine

We bought our Maclaren Volo for our DS 4 and it worked wonderfully. Easy to push, easy to fold and folds very small, also has a carry strap.

I bought my off of Ebay as other PPs have mentioned. Brand new in package and free shipping for around $65.

I figured it out and it turned out to be much less than renting, and another plus is that you could sell it for almost as much as you paid for it on CL when you get home!

we are renting form magic strollers this time....love the stroller and they are cheaper then renting from orlandostrollers. DD is 4 and loved the stroller and had plenty of room.

I have purchased three Mac Volos from that seller on ebay.
(Two for us, one for a gift.) They ship immediately and we have been very happy with them. The third one I bought came with an extra seat/shade in a different color.

We bought two for our kids for a Disney trip. Both strollers with shipping cost significantly less than renting a double for the length of our stay (10 days), so even if we never used them again they were worth the cost (and we have nice strollers we can give away).

We wound up using them for a second trip less than a year later. That was last May when FL had record rains the whole 12 days we were there. The raincovers that came with the strollers would have been worth what they cost. :goodvibes

I second renting from Magic Strollers.

I prefered the Perego Plinko P3 over the Maclaren's.

It had more features and the child sits higher up-which worked well for my niece as she likes to let her feet dangle.

I bought mine at www.albeebaby.com and also purchased last year's model.

Volos are great for older kids. We bought one a few years ago for our then 6 yr old dd. She used it for 2 Disney trips and we more than got our moneys worth out of it. It is super lightweight and pushes so easily even with an older child in it. They hold up to 55 pounds. Our dd mainly used it when she got tired later in the day, or when it was crowded and I didnt want to lose sight of her in the crowds. It carried all our junk when she wasnt in it.
Even buying 2 Volos, you would come out cheaper than renting and you can resell them or save them for future trips.
I got mine from albeebaby.com
diapers.com may have them too, and if you are a first time customer you can get an extra 10% off your first order. That is where I ordered my BJCM stroller from

Peg Perego Aria is what we have. Lightweight and works well. Lots of 2008 & 2009 models for sale for cheap on the inet.

I also think the Mac Volo is a great option. And if you need extra storage, you can purchase the mesh bag Maclaren sells. Since you'll be able to use it at home and on future trips, purchasing a Volo would be cheaper than renting.

The mesh bag (Maclaren organizer) is also perfect for keeping the sun shade clean when the stroller is folded. Before folding, close up the sunshade and flip over the organizer, it keeps the wheels from getting the shade dirty.
