I have searched everywhere (Target, Walmart, Babies R Us, etc) and can not find one. We are leaving in 2 weeks and I know I will need one. I saw they have them at One Step Ahead. Does anyone know if this is a good one or would you recommend something else? Should I just buy one when I get there? I would appreciate any oppinions!

Thanks so much,
Barbara

I bought one from Onestepahead for 14.99. I have also seen it at Buy Buy Baby for the same price, I think. I would suggest to buy before you leave. The ones they sell at Disney is one you have to press it down for it to work. Since dd is only 16months, the stroller fan I got her has an on/off switch and protects little fingers. :)

Did it make a big difference?

We are big fans of the stroller fans. They are wonderful. We need the kind that always stays on. Our DS is only 1. Anyways, I bought mine from ebay. They are not always out there, but sometimes you can catch them. You would need to search for "stroller fan". I paid around $8 including shipping. I also just saw some at our local dollar store (for you guessed it, $1). As long as the fans are made of that really lightweight foamy material, kids won't get hurt. Trust me....my DS puts his fingers in it and his face all the time and it doesn't hurt at all.

Good luck!

Discovery Channel Store in the mall for $7.95. It worked great!! We were at WDW with some friends that had the One step ahead one and it kept falling apart. It helped alot and kept DD cool enough for her to even take stroller naps. I would buy it agin.

I JUST bought ours. I purchased them from OneStePAhead for 12.95 ea. I really think they will be worth it. There is no way that my 2yr old can get her fingers near the blade, has a nice breeze, and easily fits on the stroller. This is our first trip going when it is really hot, and my youngest and the oldest don't do well in the heat(rashes) so I am hopeful these will curb the rash and the whining. :rotfl:

I got mine from One Step Ahead seems really durable. It has a nice breeze as well. Can't wait to try it out next week!

We just ordered 4 of them from Wal-Mart online. They were shipped to my sister's so I have not seen or used them yet but they look fine. They will get lots of use in 7 more days!

Hi,
Here is a link to One step ahead .

Here is a pic of it on our WDW stroller

If you get this one be sure to take a small screwdriver to
change out the batteries. Ours worked great. Our 3 yo
would nap in the stroller and it sure helped.
Good Luck

:thumbsup2 We went in June with a 4 mos. old. It was essential to keep the baby cool in the hot sun. We got ours through One Step Ahead. It worked perfectly. I had many people ask me where I got it because it really kept the baby cool. Remember to carry extra batteries with you because they will run down if you use it constantly like we did. My baby is 6 mos. now and I still use it all the time. She is big enough to grab it, but it is completely safe and cannot hurt little fingers. I won't leave home without it!!

I got 2 of them at OneStepAhead also. They work great. We've been using them all summer long, most recently at Steeler training camp. The kids (DD 2.5, DS 3 months) seemed very comfortable while the fans were on. I highly recommend them. They'll definitely be accompanying us to WDW on 9/1-9/6.

Well, I figure that between being held in lines for the rides, forced to eat tons of junk food, and meeting their favorite characters, all while being pushed miles in a stroller....they will need the fans so they won't break a sweat..... :rotfl2: That way we can go back to the hotel and swim for hours :lmao:

We, too, feel the need to completely and utterly spoil and pamper our little ones. :snooty:

Seriously, though, we have used the clip on fans from One Step Ahead since our son's first trip in 2003. You see, since our kids are little and started their Disney adventures as babies, we really wanted to help them regulate their temperature because babies sometimes can't do that as well as adults. So the fans were always a help in keeping our kids from getting overheated and dehydrated. Now that they are a bit older (2 and 4) they have discoverd the squirty fans that are sold for a ridiculous amount of money ($17.00!!) and enjoy squirting themselves and everyone within a 5 foot radius. But in Disney in the middle of July, no one seemed to mind!

The clip on fans are GREAT!!!! My DD slept quite comfortably in her stroller at 3 months, 1 year, 15 months and at 2 years when we were in Disney and it was SO hot. This was like her own air conditioning system.

Also, I noticed that since we had the fans and the kids were comfy, we didn't really have any major meltdowns. Wow - a fan can do ALL that! And only for $12.99 plus shipping. What a deal!

Sorry, but why does someone need a stoller fan?

I don't know that we "needed" one but when the dd's were babies we LOVED ours. It can get stuffy in the stroller when your covering them from the sun and the fan just circulates the air enough to keep a baby/toddler cool. It also helped when my dd's were napping as a bit of white noise and comfort.

My dd's love the ones that point up you can get at wallmart for cheap right now.

One could ask why do you need anything we bring to wdw - but is that really helpful?

TJ

I got ours from One Step Ahead. Babies and toddlers get very hot sitting in strollers for long periods of time such as nap time. As the above post said theres not much air circulating. As far as I'm concerned whatever allows my dd to have a restful nap helps her and everyone around her. Although I didn't turn it on until she actually feel asleep - she kept playing w/it and taking it off. :rotfl2:

Hi again --

Well I went to One Step Ahead and they are out of stock on the fan -- just my luck! The only other place I can find one is on line at Walmart. Has anyone used Kel-Gar Keep Cool Attachable Pinwheel Fan. If so please let me know what you thought. I think I am just going to order it. If it does not work well I will just have to get one at Disney!

Thanks again everyone for all your help!

YEAH! We bought these (1 for each kid) in July for 30% off! I'm glad to hear that they worked out!

I just looked on the Kel-Gar website, and that fan is IDENTICAL to the ones I purchased from OneStepAhead. OSA often sells products from other manufacturers, but does not list that information. I wouldn't hesitate to order the Kel-Gar fan. We love our OSA fans. If you have any questions, PM me. Hope this helps!
