Stroller advice?

In the next 2 years, we'll be taking our grandsons to DLR. Yay! They will be newly 5yo, newly 4yo, and 1.5yo. They aren't big "walkers" per se. When we head to the zoo (MUCH smaller than Disneyland, obviously) they want to ride in the stroller instead of walking to each animal exhibit.

Around town, we use a Sit-N-Stand double stroller. I hate that thing with a passion! It doesn't steer well, and I have a heck of a time pushing it when it's loaded.

I assume we will be renting a stroller from City Strollers. The big questions at hand is what to rent. Just 1 double? 1 double and 1 single? 2 singles? 3 singles? We'll have me, DH, and 12yo DD all capable of pushing strollers, but DD will be less reliable, lol.

If I were you I would go to the City Stroller website and look at the options. I'm pretty sure they have an attachment for a child to stand on in back of the stroller. Maybe the 5yo and 4yo could take turns. Believe me, I know what I'm saying, haha. But I bet you could make it work. I personally would lose my mind if I had more than one stroller to keep track of. And I like having a stroller! In fact, I'm in stroller mourning because my DD's are too big for a stroller this trip! Good luck!

We have 3 kids 5 and under, wour last trip to DL they were 4,2 and 6 months.
We have a double (front and back not side by side) and it works for us, both the older two just take turns as needed and when we just wanted them all tucked up to get back through DTD at the end of the night one of them ride on someone's shoulders.
If you do get multiple single strollers consider the stroller clips that allow you to use them either as singles or joined together.

As a note, those stroller clips will make a double that is too wide to fit in pretty much any doorway. They can only be used with two strollers that are the same model. And the double they create is not particularly easy to use.
We only use our strollers with the clips when we expect to have one adult per stroller but might for a brief period or in case of emergency want to make them into a double. (Or for travel when even our very compact double might not fit in whatever storage we have available.)

If you think all 3 kids will want to ride more than walk, would ask about the availability of a double with a boogie board or a joey seat. Another option would be to bring or rent a very cheap umbrella and hang it or balance it on the back of a double. Then you would just need a pusher for it when all 3 wanted to ride.

To start with I wouldn't worry a ton about it till you actually have dates set. Two years can make a huge difference. Heck in 6 months can in what a kid wants to do. But I wouldn't rent more than 1 double , maybe get a stroller board.
