I can't believe that exactly one week ago, I was strolling around this absolutely gorgeous island out there in the middle of the Caribbean. The sight of the island from the Disney Dream took my breath away! The beautiful color of the water and that white sand!!

Thanks for sharing! 40 more days until my cruise and 46 until Castaway Cay. I feel like I missed so much my first time there. I am definitely going to explore more of the island this time.

Actually, it was taken before noon! Big thunderstorm rolled in around noon and another bigger one hit at about 2:00-ish that same day. Would rather be there in the rain than at home in the sun any day though!!

It must constantly rain on that island. My wife's first cruise and we got completely rained out on Castaway Cay day. Like thunderous rain that flooded the island. We were so disappointed. I'm grateful we'll get another chance next month when we go on our cruise but I hear so often about rain that I worry. We pay so much money to be able to experience the private island and to be rained out is horrible.

Did they move Castaway Cay? The last time I was there it wasn't in the middle of the Caribbean.

The Bahamas and Castaway Cay are in the Caribbean, just not in the Caribbean Sea.

Well, Disney can't control the weather. ("Yet..." as Christiaan used to say on his debarkation video.) But...

Complete rainouts can happen - just like anywhere, even the theme parks. I think far more common is the typical pop-up shower. Disappointing, sure. But it's nature and uncontrollable. Just look at it as you could be stuck at work.
