We are renting and are trying to figure out the best strategy for getting 2 young kids, double stroller, 2 car seats and all of our bags to our rental car. What have you done? I am assuming DH connot leave car parked outside terminal empty, while we haul bags from baggage pick-up to the curb. Any tips appreciated. Oh yeah...we are going with Budget if it makes a difference. Thanks!

Get one of the luggage carts from the vending machine within the baggage claim area. We've been able to fit a mountain of luggage, car seats, and stroller on those things. As for being able to pull up directly to the terminal, I don't know what restrictions are in place in MCO. But maybe you could check their airport website for up-to-date info.

We always bring an extra large duffle bag to stuff the car seat in after we arrive. It seems to be easier to carry and load on the luggage carts. We also have a large strap in case we have to carry it.

Don't forget to bring a locking clip for the rental car.:)

Just a question-
I've seen several posts about bringing a locking clip for car seats in rental cars. Our cars at home dont need them so the clips are safely stowed clipped to the bottoms of the seats hence we always have them. I was under the impression that all cars built since the mid 90's were to have seatbelts which did not require the clips. We've never needed our clips (only been traveling with kids for about 2.5 years now)- so i assumed that the clips were in fact obsolete.

Does anyone know- do some cars still need 'em?

You need locking clips for the shoulder-type seat belts. Shoulder-type belts are designed to "give" when you lean forward slowly as in picking something up off the floor but they "lock" when you lean forward fast like in an accident. The locking clip locks the car seat to the belt so that the "give" does not allow the seat to move around. If your rental car has a lap-type belt in the middle you do not need a locking clip.
