Hi everyone! I'm in the market for a stroller for my 6yo dd. She only weighs 40 lbs, yet we have to have a stroller at Disney. I realize the Mac's have a weight limit of 55-65 lbs depending on the model, yet I need to know what you use for your older 5-6yo kids? They may carry her weight (& my cooler/bag!) fine, yet I'm worried about the height issue too. She is about 44", and I know when we were trying out new strollers for our Disney trip last year, her legs were jammed up high, and hit most of the snack trays. She really doesn't even use it to ride, unless I MAKE her :rolleyes1 , but uses it for daily naps in the park. So, it is important that it reclines to some extent.

I would love to hear what strollers you use & how you like them. Thanks SO much for any info!! :grouphug:

We have the Mac Triumph from Target and DS6, 49", 52 pounds still rides in it when we are at WDW. His knees do go up higher than when we first bought it at 40 pounds, but we have never had any complaints. It does recline and pushes well.

He sleeps very well in it and loves to ride in it instead of walking when we let him. I use it mainly to hold all of our stuff we bring in with us.

My DD (age 5) uses the Mac Volo when we go to Disney. Any of the MacLarens would be good because they hold up to 55 pounds and push very easily. We love ours!

I love my Mac Volo!! I bought it for DS3 (mainly for the upcoming Oct trip to WDW), but DS7 is in it more than his brother! Go figure!! And DS7 is 50" tall and weighs 67lbs. He says it's comfortable and even with him in it, I can still push with one hand while holding onto DS3 with the other hand. My only main complaint is the lack of cupholders/junk trays. Other than that, I love it!!!

My DD(8 1/2 now) can still ride in our Volo with no problem (but she doesnt anymore). We bought it a couple of years ago only for Disney trips. She is at 51 pounds now and it pushes like she isnt even in it. I fell in love so much with the Macs that we bought a Mac Quest for our new addition due in a few months. (the Volo doesnt recline and I wanted one that would for the new baby) I wish I had seen these 18 years ago when I had my first child. They are great and worth every penny!! You would get many years use out of a Mac with your DD at only 40 pounds. This is the weight my DD was when we got hers.

You might want to take a look at the Inglesina Trip stroller. I just ordered it from Babies R Us so I haven't seen it in person yet, but I had it narrowed down to the Trip or a Maclaren. It reclines almost fully, and the leg rest extends. The reason I chose it over a Maclaren is because the basket looked more accessible and the seat looked more comfortable. Also, it is regularly priced at @ $189, but BRU has one color on clearance so I got it for $109. Good Luck!!

Just wanted to update. I received my Inglesina Trip stroller today and LOVE it!! It was purchased mainly for my 4 year old nephew to use on our Disney trip this fall. He tried it out today and liked it. Plenty of room for him. Large, EASILY accessible basket (better than Maclaren). Easy to fold and unfold. Only drawback is that it is a little heavier than the Maclaren, but not too bad.
