Stressed out over Rise of Resistence...

I've been reading a lot of posts about how to get boarding passes. I'm a little stressed about the process. We only go about once every couple years. We only have one day to spend in DHS. And, I have a 13 year old son who absolutely loves Star Wars. A 5 second window is crazy. Why do they have a process that gives you such a sliver of an opportunity. Fingers crossed!

the best tips I’ve heard are to use your phone’s wifi, not the park WiFi if you are already in the park. My great niece used her phone to count down to the designated time, and my niece kept refreshing her phone until it was the designated time. Out of 3 trips during 2020, that was the only time we were able to get a boarding group. It should be easier now that you don’t actually have to physically be in the park for the morning time.

I had an alarm set for 6:45, 6:55 & 6:59.

Once 6:59 hit, I closed out of MDE and reopened it, opened the virtual queue button, selected "join virtual queue" and kept refreshing until the minute changed. We were on boarding group 33, I think.

I wouldn't stress too much. Just find a spot with good cell service beforehand and be ready right at 7.

If you want to take some stress off, why not reserve two park days at Hollywood Studios? I know you only have one to spend, but it's a pretty safe bet to switch last minute to Epcot or Animal Kingdom. Unless you're going at a super busy time.

These and other faq are answered on the bg main thread. You have to have scanned into dhs before 1pm to try and get a bg at 1pm. So let's say you go to the park at 11am spend whatever amount of time and then go back to your resorts, you can try from your resort at 1pm.
