strategies to handle the stress of waiting for discounts?

I feel like I can't wait another minute for the AP discounts to come out for November!! I am on a tight budget and I have specific resorts that I am dying to stay in if the discounts will only make it possible!!

So, here's the thing:

How do you cope with the not knowing if you will get a discount or not? What do you do in preparation? Do you book the room that you want in hopes of getting a discount added later? Or do you book at the price you want and ugrade to the resort that you would rather stay at if you get a discount?

Me, I am compulsively lurking on Disboards and wishing and waiting. I also go and look at pics online of the resorts that I am hoping for!

How do YOU fill the days, weeks, or even months of waiting.........

I go ahead and budget and book what I want. Then when specials come out I can get excited by how much the price drops. Waiting for discounts is too stressful.
