Stranger kindness at lunch today

I got to meet DH for lunch today. No meeting and such for him.

DS (2) and I met him at Olive Garden. We were enjoying ourselves when a nice lady came over to our table. She said that her father carries with him gold dollars (sagawewa (sp)). He likes to give them out to small children. If it was okay with us, could she give one to our son.

We thanked her for the kind gesture. My DS likes his shiny "penny".

I saw her get up once more when another child was seated near us. After we ate, we went over to thank them again.

This gentleman was smiling and said that DS was a very well behaved little man. I guess the Benadryl worked. LOL ( DS really has allergies bad today).

There really is kindness from strangers.

That is so sweet!

You know thats sadly all I remember about my father's father. He would give out shiny new 50 cent pieces to us everytime we saw him. I still have over 30 of those. He died when I was 5.

my grandfather (dad's dad) was kinda like that too.
he had this big vase full of loose change...every year on our birthday we got to stick one hand in there and we could keep whatever we could grab.

he always loaded up the top of it with quarters/50 cent pieces too!

We used to have a wonderful, old time doctor at our hospital. On payday when everyone was coming in to pick up their checks if he saw a child they would get a dollar. He said it should be payday for everyone!!!
